Simple to install and navigate

I found that I use it more than I thought I would. I can load youtube videos (including those I make myself) and my netflix account is now linked. It's convenient to switch from cable to Roku (using only one remote) and back again. I'm considering adding one to each tv in the house.

I received my Roku 3 as a Christmas present. I've really enjoyed being able to watch my Amazon Prime videos on my TV rather than just my laptop or Kindle. I've really taken advantage of the free Fitness channels on the Roku. It's been great to do Pilates in my own home instead of braving the cold and snow to drive to the gym.

More fees than expected, less movies than expected

Technically, it works, although entering passwords, account names, etc. is extremely tedious. (You move around on-screen keyboards one key at a time to get to each letter. Slow!) But almost all the default "channels" require paid subscriptions. Free channels have two-star movies from the 1980s. We do have a Netflix account, but its streaming choices are pretty slim. Best I've found so far is the free PBS channel. Also, why can it get Hulu Plus ($$) but not ordinary free Hulu??
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Loving it!

I was skeptical when a friend first told me about Roku but my husband is tough to buy for so I gave it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised by the small footprint (its kinda cute - electronically speaking), and it was so simple to set up/register as were many of the 'channels.' We did end up subscribing to a paid channel, but also added many of the free ones. We're still exploring the selections, but we're even thinking of getting rid of the cable box.

audio problem

Every time I use the device I have to unplug/plug the HDMI in order to get sound with the vidio

Bought this on recommendation of a friend. It was so simple to hook up and start using. Great way to view our favorite tv shows and catch some movies too. Much better option than cable company upgrades.

Great Alterative to Cable TV

I bought this over a month ago just before my IPTV provider ended their service as a TV provider. I hope that in the future that Fox News will allow for subscriptions to their live feed apart from the cable companies.
