I could not get cable into my spare room. With Roku, My wireless internet can really get used!! Love the variety of programing you can access!

Wonderful Way to Watch TV

The Roku 3 was a Holiday gift from my family. I wanted to watch Acorn TV and could only do so on my ipad. Now we watch it on our normal TV thanks to the Roku. The only thing I would say I don't like is that some of the channels listed say free, but then you see a subscription amount if you actually want to view full shows. But for what we want to watch - this is excellent. The quality of the shows is great and with an added HDMI switcher, we have no issues switching between our BluRay and Roku. There is also an issue with Comcast vs the History Channels. That needs to be resolved as we cannot watch the shows we like because what we have read it is not being allowed because of Comcast.

Great decision!

My husband and I decided to give up cable two years ago. We subscribed to Netflix and watched a lot of movies. My husband was missing the Christian programs he used to watch on cable. For Christmas I decided to try the Roku 3. I already owned a kindle and subscribed to Amazon "Prime" for the ebooks. Now we can watch Amazon free movies and tv. It is great! We can also watch christian programming (my favorite is "Elevation Church"). Best of all is that it was very easy to setup. We are not tech savvy and get frustrated when we can't setup something that is to be easy. But this really was!

Best purchase I've ever made!

This is definitely one of the best purchases I've ever made. My wife and I use Netflix as well as a Plex home server. We used to stream the XBox but it was slow and hard to use. Since I already had an XBox I was hesitant to buy "yet another" device to stream videos and such.
But a friend of mine got a Roku and recommended it so I took the plunge and I'm not looking back! It was extremely easy and super user-friendly to setup and use. You just plug it in and GO. I'm still amazed at how simple and intuitive it really is.
If you stream any sort of content or just want a convenient way to buy/rent movies then I would highly recommend the Roku. And specifically the Roku 3 because it has 1080P and an Ethernet connection. Nothing beats hard-wired HD goodness.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great product except...

The Roku features are great. Easy to use and navigate. Our only problem is that most times we get an error message when we try to download a movie/show. The only way to get around this is to unplug and re-plug the ROKU box. Can't believe this glitch has not been fixed with a $100 product. 5 stars if ROKU can send a fix!

We decided to "cut cable" and LOVE our lil Roku 3 !! We have lots of channels on it and can keep up with everything we want to watch!! And it's so easy to set up!!We love it so much that we bought another one for my college aged sons room so he can watch his shows on there. We mostly watch Hulu Plus and Netflix on it but there is so MUCH more.My son loves anime and there are channels just for that and I like cooking shows etc and there channels just for that and I found a channel that has all kinds of black and white cartoons on it which I love too!!. If you love music it even has Spotify on it (which we also love!!) If you want to cut the cable cord too I HIGHLY suggest getting a Roku!!
