Fantastic!!

Received the Roku 3 as a surprise Christmas gift. Needless to say, it is the most often used gift. Too bad my remote apparently got trashed when cleaning up wrapping papers and throwing away boxes. Haven't seen it since Christmas night. But, the Roku App, which I loaded on my phone and tablet, saved the day for me. Perfect marriage with the Roku 3 and all the movies I care to watch!! While lots of free movies and TV shows and available, I would like to see lower price for renting movies on the subscription sites.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Headphones.. didn't think I'd use this, but we have a small house and as soon as our son was off to bed (6yr old) we could start watching Game Of Thrones on the HBO GO app! We shared headphones (1 ear each) and snuggled ;)

APPs: Netflix, HBOGO, YouTube (like the be-fit channel for exercise), Angry birds is fun for us all, and more.
Picture: 720P looks great
Controller, love that it works without line of site, very simple to use, my son's on it no problems.
NOTE: I have an xbox 360 which had many (but not all) of these apps.. Fact is the RoKu is simpler and easier to use and has MORE stuff ;)
CONs: humm... I wanted to play some home video's on a USB stick and it didn't pick up the format of my files, (where as the Xbox played them fine) So I would say it has limited ability to play files from USB.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Really awesome implementation

Everything works as expected. However, I'd say the only problem I have is the amount of really useful channel. I definitely understand, that it's up to ones flavour, but as to me I wasn't able to find that many channels I'd wanted to use. Netflix/Youtube/Vevo might be enough for some people, but I'd like to have more channels (even on different languages) I could choice from.
Also, I honestly don't understand why you, guys (Roku team) closed the root-access to the device. I definitely agree, this thing is only for advanced users, but it could open tons of opportunities for developers.
This is Linux-based device and I think users should have this option.
Anyway, nothing will be done here. Thank you for this great device.

Replacing Direct TV with my Rokus

We purchased 2 Roku 3s and 1 Roku LT about a month ago. We've used a lot of the Roku features but have barely scratched the surface. I'm very pleased and will certainly use this as a replacement for the expensive Direct TV service we used to use.

A whole new world!

A gift of a wireless router for Christmas opened up a whole new world of programming and savings via my Roku player! I have not even begun to explore the universe of options that are available in all the categories and channels. Totally amazing!

Almost perfect

Love everything about the Roku with one exception - the USB media player is extremely limited. It only supports .MP4 or .MKV h.264 file formats. It needs to either implement the open source VLC player or support multiple codecs. The most glaring ommsion - DivX & Xvid AVI files. As for the streaming functionality - 5 stars.
