Great, but a few little things to fix

I didn't want to shell out the money for an xbox or a smart tv, so the roku box was a super cost effective way of getting the apps that I want onto my home entertainment system.
I love that it's connected to wifi so, unlike cable, (although I confess I have both) you only pay the initial cost of the box and there are no service fees.
The biggest downside for me is that it doesn't come with an off button. For being a minor detail, this has turned into a growing annoyance. I get that it is supposed to be left on like a cable box, but unlike a cable box, every time I open it after it's been idle for a while it glitches out - either moving incredibly slow or losing an internet connection and not being able to pick it back up. The only thing that fixes the problem is physically getting up and unplugging the roku, which seems silly. Since it glitches every time it's dormant and I don't see any real reason why it needs to be left on, I would really like to be able to just shut it off when I'm done with it and not have to fight through a mess of cables to get it working again. Also, if the theory is that these are supposed to be left on like a cable box, let's note that even cable boxes have off buttons.

Easy Set-up

I bought a Roku 3 as a family Christmas gift and it has been great. Easy to setup and use, not terribly expensive and a load of programming choices. I would certainly recommend it.

Perfect

The Roku 3 is perfect for what we use it for. In our apartment, the cable outlet is in an awkward spot and it is close to impossible to run a coax cable from the outlet to the bedroom without a big cable running underneath the carpet. Our solution, get a Roku. We watch standard fare at night before going to bed so having a cable box in the bedroom wasn't terribly important. The ease of installation and use is outstanding. The video quality and connection to my wireless router is excellent. This was a fantastic investment. Great product.

I gave the Roku 3 to my wife as a Christmas present along with a subscription to Netflix. I was impressed with the ease of setting up the connection even with WiFi. She is enjoying quite a number of different shows and we have not watched broadcast / CATV for most of January. We have now explored other channels including Amazon Prime and have rented a few new releases already. Certainly has changed the way we interact with the entertainment choices.
