This was a Christmas gift that I requested. Much better than the blue ray player with its limited options. I a still exploring all of the choices on Roku. Easy to set up and works without a hitch. I would recommend it to anyone. We haven't quite gotten bold enough to ditch our cable, but we think about it every day.

Little disappointed

- It has no analog audio out.
- It doesn't work unless you register it first online, so if you ain't got internet at home, you can't use it. (Hey Roku! Yes, there are still people who just want to use it as a media player for their computer/usb files)!

- The remote battery goes empty quickly, usually lasts 1 to 2 months
- It doesn't work with my 720p projector (flickers between 640pix 4/3 screen and blank), but it does work on my 720p Plasma TV
- It doesn't allow apps to register straight to the Roku. I need a separate computer, to get an approval code for the Roku player. So if you want to install apps or channels, you need a separate device that supports a web browser (smart phone, laptop,...)
On the other hand, it does play a lot more formats than my Asus O!play, and supposedly supports 10bit colorpatterns too; never tested it though.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Dear Roku Meisters,
This product has been a huge hit with my husband who rarely watched TV with me BR (Before Roku). He's now constantly on the prowl for the next best documentary, movie, science or animal planet type show, and, of course, the remote control so he can, well, control. Seriously, we love it. Very easy install (I did it myself, and I'm a tech-challenged individual.) Nearly endless content with great selections; it's hard to choose what to watch. Thanks for a great product, and keep up the good work!

I bought this about a month ago, and I use it constantly. I had used the Wii, but not even close.

Great entertainment addition

I got my Roku as a Christmas gift and have really enjoyed having it. The setup was easy and everything worked to perfection. Just recently used the feature that allows control and transmitting from my iPad . Again, very easy setup and worked the way it was intended.
