Great device!

This is the best device you can buy for your TV. It has an incredibly snappy UI and blows away AppleTV (if airplay is that important to you, then buy a receiver with airplay). I use it to stream movies and TV shows from a NAS which works well for the most part (does not support a few formats). Also, the Netflix works beautifully (never hangs and the remote provides instant maneuvering between menus). The Time Warner app is even better and unless you need a DVR, this will replace your cable box. And if you are thinking about buying a "smart" tv...save your money, buy a TV with no frills and get a Roku. It is much more responsive than any Smart TV out there. The remotes is great and the device can even be hidden while the remote continues to work.

Roku 3 is a nice box and it does a great job. I am quite dissapointed by the locked down network features. The capability to search all roku content with the generic "search" feature does not exist in Canadian models. Very dissapointed by this as it was the reason that I purchased the device over an Apple TV. Had I known this feature wasnt available in Canada I would not have purchased a Ruko. Needless to say there is no advertising of this lack of search capability and I am told that Roku are working on adding it back into the Canadian version... I'll believe it when I see it. Other than that the device works well, integrates well with my tv and runs smoothly. I like the ability to add different channels, and the headphone jack on the remote is also a favourite feature of mine.

Received this as a Christmas gift, to replace a Samsung dongle. Setup instructions were easy, although took about 15 minutes to complete. Have been very satisfied, although on a few occasions, you may need to power down if a screen locks up during while viewing source selections. Otherwise unit performs very well. Seldom experience the interruption delay to buffer during movies. This is something the Samsung dongle did on most movies. My daughter has the Roku2, and wants to trade up to the 3, as appears previous cliches are fixed.

Waited a long time to finally decide to buy this-WHY??? Crazy! I love this thing! We share a Netflix with my daughter now, and with amazon prime you get a TON of free movies and tv series. Almost don't need cable!

My new Roku 3

We've had this for about 1 month. It was easy to install. Because my Sony TV has only one HDMI port, I purchased a switch w/remote at RadioShack and that is working great too. Streaming video has been very quick (a few seconds) and flawless.

Got this for Christmas, haven't used it a whole lot but so far so good. We have mostly been watching free movies on Crackle. I wish subtitles were available, because the sound on our TV makes it hard to hear dialogue. But that's my only complaint so far.
