It's way better than built-in TV wi-fi. It has a better user interface. The connection is more advanced resulting in less buffering.

Bought my Roku 3 about a month ago. You Tube on the big screen, Works great in HD clear bright images This is an incredible thing. Easy to setup. Many programs and topics to chose from.

I have 2 TVs andI bought 2 roku 3 players for Christmas and wish I had done this years ago. I have DSL and a wireless hook up and am happy with the speed. I can watch one show and my wife something else

Strengths: The Roku 3 is an excellent little media device. I primarily use this it stream Netflix and Amazon prime instant video and don't use utilize the built in channels much (other than PLEX and Pandora). The PLEX server allows for easy streaming of videos straight from my desktop; it's really quite a nifty channel. Also, when using PLEX you are able to pause and resume where you last left off.
Limitations: The built in USB port on the 3 (which is one of my only complaints) is utterly useless for watching any kind of video. Videos constantly freeze, the Roku automatically resets, and you are unable to resume where you left off. The USB functionality was the primary reason for purchasing the 3. Had I known that the device could only support limited USB functionality I would have saved the cash and gone with a Roku 2 instead. The only other complaint I have is with the interface viewing options. For example, when searching for movies (via plex, amazon, netflix, etc.) all options are lines across the screen on a single horizontal plane, and I find it very unnatural to scroll through options this way. It would be most excellent if you could view pages of titles (like thumbnails), or even scroll through titles vertically.

I bought the Roku 3 last month and have nothing but good things to say about it. It's even more reliable than my cable. I love that I can use my headphones via the remote and not bother my husband when I watch a movie. I give it two big thumbs up!

I read all the positive reviews in advance but it turned out even better still. I'm most impressed with the excellent 802.11a 5ghz performance. I have a few devices on that band but the Roku 3 keeps the strongest signal of the lot. I can stream very high quality videos from my NAS through the great Plex app very smoothly. I use YouTube and Crunchyroll a lot as well.
Only small complaint is that there is no app on the Canadian store that can playback ultraviolet digital movies as with the US store.

I like the roku 3 and it had everything I was looking for except the local news on live stream I only got recorded news and I was hoping to have the local channels live. Instead I get out of state news and I not interested in that unless I want to visit

I have had this about 3 weeks and I don't know why I didn't do this before now. I am catching up on movies/shows via netflix that I have been wanting to. The access to movies is incredible.
