Love my Roku

I recieved a Roku for Christmas so I could watch the Acorn Tv channel. Our family has enjoyed it so much we are planning to purchase another Roku for the family room TV.

I recently purchased the Roku 3 to gain access to Amazon prime. I found it to be quite easy to set up and use. I enjoy Amazon prime because there are quite a few fee movies and TV shows I can watch that are included with the membership fee. It is especially nice that you don't have to sit through or fast forward though commercials. When setting it up It helps to have a lap top or table handy, as you need to access web accounts. I find that I do not use it too much with the free news channels, but I have viewed the American Express and Wall Street Journal channels with some interest. Unfortunately, you need to log-in and create an account for everything. Some can be pretty costly and until I get rid of satellite TV I won't be doing that. But when I do ditch satellite TV the Roku will be invaluable.

Got the Roku 3 as a gift for Xmas and love it. We've been big fans of streaming video for a while (Netflix, Amazon, etc.), but it was a bit of a hassle having to connect a laptop whenever we wanted to watch. Now everything just goes through the Roku. Definitely digging the apps that let me stream pix, vids and music from my iPad and Android phone. Only thing missing is the ability to mirror the screen of my smartphone/tablet (like Apple's Airplay).

I received this as a Christmas Present. It was easy to set up and very intuitive to use. This connects to Netflix much faster than going through my BluRay player or TV internet connections.

I have really enjoyed it so far. The only complaint would be that the jack for the ear buds were faulty. I bought it through amazon and since it was a huge game changer I didn't think it was worth the hassle of sending it back.

Ease of surfing.....really fast compared to another unit I have. Did not like being coerced into a credit card number for activation.......they did waive that after calling tech support. I was going to take it back before I would do that.
