I love being able to see the episodes that I missed. Always something to watch that is new me. Now I never feel limited only to what cable can provide. Love it !!

I wanted a Roku, and got one for the holidays. I was a little reluctant with how to setup and use, but astonished by it!
One aspect I was concerned was having to hard wire an internet connection for video streaming. I did the setup for wireless and the performance is flawless!
The free trials of the different services have been great, and I have really gotten to love the Roku.
I would recommend this to a friend!

GREAT UNIT, A LITTLE FLAKEY

Easy and quick to set up, sign up and get working. Unit is fast compared with my original Roku, but it does decide to either hang or reboot occasionally. It is easy to add channels from the categories available but not so easy to delete them. Some channels are disappointing due to charges, either individual program or subscription. It would be easy to get nickled and dimed to death with these. I use Netflix (subscription) and Amazon Prime but do not wish to add more. I use the Roku and Netflix to minimize cost while maximizing my selections and at the same time eliminating commercials. There are too many channels with commercials.
There is no RCA audio output, nor is there optical audio...only HDMI. If you are getting a new audio system that has HDMI that's okay. Otherwise, all you have is a 2.1 jack for headphones. I suspect that this is why the remote eats batteries. I use my head set every night so as not to disturb my wife who retires early and unplug it when not using. But still, it seems that I am putting new Duracells in every couple or three weeks.
One thing, however, is the interface. With the original unit, one could synchronize "my list" on the computer with "my list" on the Roku. No longer...or at least it seems that when I rearrange my list on the computer the change does not occur on the Roku. Not sure why.
Placement of buttons on the remote is reasonable except occasionally I actuate one of the two lower buttons with my palm when trying to pause, backspace or rewind
Overall, however, this unit is a great improvement over my original Roku. I would buy it again and recommend to a friend.

Cutting the cable

We are tired of the high DISH bills and decided to try Chromecast as well as Roku. So far, Roku has more channels/available content than Chromecast. Both work well, but I like Roku's dedicated remote. I wish I could cast XBMC through the Roku. Then, it would be the best value ever. We will discontinue satellite when our contract is up in May.

Flawless

When I received my Roku3 last month, I opened it and gave the setup directions a quick read and put the directions back in the shipping box. A few days later, when I was ready to hook it up, I couldn't find the directions and found out that my wife had recycled the box without looking inside!
Luckily, it turned out that the setup was very intuitive and the Roku3 worked perfectly!
