Simply the best player for the price!

I have owned 4 different models of popcornhours (NMT/Syabase/Cloudmedia) from the A110 to the 400. Also I have tried the Dune players, western digital, and several others on the market. All of them were pretty straightforward to set up but none of them was as stable, easy to use, and ultimately as rich as the Roku3. The Roku3 handles everything I throw at it from standard definition to full HD files. It is easy enough to run for my 4 year old son, is small, quiet and unobtrusive enough to satisfy my wife. We now have them on every television and I highly recommend them. Couple with Plex the Roku represents an unbeatable value.

Bought the unit a month back. It has good features I found it easy to use.
Full functionalty cannot be used in Canada due to restriction placed on Tv Network broadcasts.

almost as good as cable tv

Got it, set-up was a breeze. Have had it for about a month and is very user friendly. My sole disappointment is that several of the channels require activation. The activation require having and account with certain cable companies, thus limiting what is available to watch. I have not yet been through all of the available channels yet and imagine I'll find much more to watch as time allows for me to review some of the options available. Overall very satisfied, the account login's are the only thing preventing me from giving it a five star rating.

Best replacement for a pc connected to a tv

I got this as a gift and it replaces a pc I connected via HDMI to a tv. This thing beats that setup hands down--no waiting for booting up, no disk or fan noise, and the menu is made for watching shows/movies. I was already subscribed to Netflix and Hulu Plus so this makes for a much more convenient interface to access those services. While I don't watch a lot of different channels, there are a lot and I did log in to the Roku site and add more that weren't listed just out of curiosity. The included remote is really easy to use and is a convenient, added feature that came with the package. Sure, I could setup my phone to use as a remote but what about my family members--I'd have to leave my phone for them to use too? Gone are the days that I have to get up to change the channel for my dad (before handheld remote controls) but the handheld remote still has a useful place IMO.

It's everything that anybody could want in a streaming box. Apple TV doesn't even compare to this device. I love the fact that I'm not tied down to the apple ecosystem. I like that you can add the great public channels plus private channels as well. This device is so incredibly easy to use, even my 2 year old daughter knows how to navigate through the menus to find what she wants to watch. I fully recommend this product to anybody that's just starting out with streaming movies and TV.

very slick. easy, intuitive surfing. i only had 5 digital channels on antenna. this was like leaving my house 4 the first time and discovering a whole world. crazy amount of content. actually can be addictive. must not become a couch tater. only minor gripe is loading time on some content BUT that is probably my weak wireless signal. overall, best deal in return for the buck. pay TV vendors should worry. a lot.

Love that you no longer have to point the remote directly at the roku and also that you can plug earbuds into the remote to listen without disturbing anyone with the sound.
