Roku Gets It!

Bought this before Xmas as a gift to self. Picked the 3 because of the headphone feature(wife loves to watch all nite, now I can sleep). Great remote, simple but does all you need and easy to use in the dark. Have a Chromecast in living room but like the functions of the 3 better. The only draw back I've found is the quality of the headphones. Cheap sounding. Easily fixed with another pair we have in the house.

Nice - some features missing

I love to interface and the earphone jack. My only problem with this device is that Youtube and HBOGo (I have Comcast Xfinity) don't work on the Roku3.

Life Changing!

As life changing as the DVR was, having the Roku 3 has utterly changed our viewing habits again. Unlike regular TV there is always something on! And we're much more likely to find something we BOTH want to watch.

Why did I just now get roku?

Streaming my first episode of "Dexter" from Netflix motivated me to write this review. Most of the reviews I've read about Roku 3 focused on platform blah, blah, blah and other tech. stuff I don't really understand. I wanted to write a review for the tech. illiterate who just want quality streaming. I purchased Roku 3 because I got tired of my ancient streaming device I bought five years ago and plug into my dvd player. Every time I tried to watch a show streamed from Netflix, it would pause to buffer about 10 times each episode. This got annoying. I heard a lot about Roku 3 and thought I'd give it a shot, ready to return it if my shows were still interrupted. I just finished my first streaming without interruption with Roku and could not be more satisfied! Having only time for a few hours of tv a week, I just wanted to watch my favorite show without interruption. Roku not only allowed that, but was easy to set up and streamed a higher resolution picture. My last device delivered a picture that had about 4 pixels. And Roku continues to amaze. After the first episode finished, it automatically started playing the next one, skipping the "Last time on..." clips and intro, going straight to the action! I don't know if this is more of a Netflix thing or Roku thing, but it's awesome. Granted, I could have probably done fine with Roku 2 as I hardly watch tv, but I got the Roku 3 because of the headphone jack on the remote. I have a roommate and thought this was a nice feature, so I could watch my show and not disturb her when she's sleeping. So, go buy a Roku and I'm going to go watch the next episode of "Dexter."

wish there was volume control on the 'roku' remote. News cast should be live. like to watch CNN,DISCOVERY,NATIONA GEOGRAPHIC
