I bought this for my wife for Christmas and it has quickly become an entertainment staple. while i amnot a cord cutter due to live sports the content that Roku has available allows me to not be beholden to Dish. If they had live sports without blackout restrictions I would give this 5.

Should Have Gotten One Ages Ago!

"Santa" brought this to our family for Christmas and we couldn't be happier. We already had HuluPlus and Crunchyroll accounts, but the only place we could watch programs was on the computer. That might be all right if you're single or a couple, but we have three kids. Watching our shows right on the television is much more convenient, especially if there's something all of us wanted to watch.
The other thing that we as parents have really been enjoying are the headphones. In the evening after the kids are in bed I can watch whatever I want and I don't have to worry about waking them up.
We're really pleased with our Roku and I rather wish we'd purchased one a while ago.

I received this as a Christmas gift about a month ago and have been loving it! I great home for Netflix, Spotify, Amazon Prime all in one, and I like that I can stream from my computer through Plex as well. Enjoyable interface as well (often an overlooked portion of the design) Good stuff!

It's like a Chromecast, but better

I bought a Chromecast this summer since I want to stream things to my TV, but frankly it's just not compatible with enough things.
I'd heard good things about Roku and picked one up this Christmas. I'm more than thrilled with it.
It works great, no problems so far. I've watched Youtube videos, Netflix movies, anime from Crunchyroll, and even found an unofficial app to stream videos from Twitch.tv, which is terrific.
all in all, it's wonderful. Thanks.

I am most impressed with how easy the Roku connected to the WiFi network compared with adding other electronics. There is lots of free content as of 01/2014 for downloading news, on-line lectures and even some movies. Work needs to be done in entering search terms and moving the 'OK' button on the remote to the CENTER of the arrow buttons would be a big improvement.
