I don't have vast experience with other streamers, but this one appears to be superior in speed. It offers a lot of content. I read reviews citing wireless issues. My Roku is directly below my router, separated by a floor, and it has issues with connectivity at times. No other devices have issues in this spot. I plan on hard wiring the player and I would recommend planning to do the same.
I would recommend this to a friend!

After extensive hinting, I received Roku for Christmas 2013. It was a breeze to set up, and it has been in more-or-less constant use ever since.

After constantly having to plug and unplug my Kindle to get decent reception I find the Roku effortless and so easy and convenient. I wonder why I waited so long to get one! It's awesome!

No RCA audio out!

Why take away the RCA audio out? But not add an optical audio out? Will be a lot of works around for listening through the old receiver!

Exceptional Product

I got the Roku player in part because by Oppo Blu-Ray player does not have Amazon Instant and my Samsung TV smart Hub is a little slower than I would like and also does not have the best sound quality when running it through my AV system.
In short the Roku 3 player works beautifully. The picture quality is outstanding, the sound is excellent and the speed is as good as I have seen. The remote is compact and very easy to use.
As a bonus I have so many more choices with my Roku player than I would have had with both my Blu-Ray or TV set.
I tend to be a perfectionist when it some to my electronics equipment and I have to say I have been impressed.
I recommend it highly.

Easy to use for the technically challenged

I've had my Roku for several weeks now (received it as a Christmas gift). I simply love it and how easy it is to use. I was able to reduce my Dishnetwork monthly premium by removing movie channels and I'm saving enough to pay for the Roku within several months and cover the cost of the monthly Netflix membership. If you like to watch movies that are as recent as you'll get on many of the premium movie channels, you can't go wrong.

I love Netflix and YouTube and now I can finally watch them on TV. The interface is well done and the navigation is smooth. Streaming is also great. I can't believe there a no glitches for an internet based product. I use the headphones all the time, too. I can watch whatever I want, how loud I want, even when the baby is sleeping. And since the headphones are attached to the remote, I can walk all over the house and still hear it. Also, it is so small; it takes up no room! I am so happy with the Roku 3!
