Even cooler than I expected!

My Roku 3 has worked flawlessly and is proving itself to be a great alternative to satellite and cable, though I still have such service. I've just scratched the surface of the capabilities of this little black wonder box, yet already feel it is worth every cent and more. Streaming movies, shows, music, and games is simple and everything looks and sounds great. Though there are many items available requiring a small charge, there is a great variety of things completely free. Do not hesitate to purchase a Roku 3, it's really fun!

Downton Abbey

Time Warner doesn't carry masterpiece theater. I missed first episode of the new season of downton abbey, I was upset. Some days later looking through my channels on roku 3. i saw PBS/ masterpiece/ downton abbey. I was thrilled. Needless to say I will be walking my boxes in and cancelling cable. The roku3 is an awesome gadget. With Netflix, Hulu Plus and Amazon prime what more do you need.Buy it.

Awesome streaming media player.Best 100 bucks i ever spent.Saved me money on my TWC bill.It has the cable app so no need for the cable box.

What's the point?

My boyfriend bought this for me for Christmas. He was more disappointed than I was & we couldn't wait to return it. Any product that insists on your credit card for future purchases before you even have a chance to browse it's functions is an instant red flag. We really don't need another device to access our Netflix and Hulu accounts. Using the remote to try and see what was available was extremely cumbersome and slower than an antique modem, with no alternative to the slow scroll for searches. Almost everything was an extra fee and whenever we thought we found a good channel, it turned out to be only a clip or advertisement. What a waste of time & energy!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Quick fast and feature packed

I received this roku a month ago as a gift and my family loves it!
The interface is clean, fast, and streams online and local videos without any problem.
The remote's ability to play games is kinda worthless except for a party trick for guests
The only con is that I can neither turn on my tv with the roku3 remote nor program a universal remote with the roku freq!
It stinks to have to use two remotes when the roku3 remote has such simplistic features.
