We already have apple TV, and read the reviews for ROKU. ROKU exceeded our expectations and surpasses apple TV. Definitely worth it.

Better than directv or cable

Will be dumping Directv and replace with ROKU 3. Only disadvantages are you can not get rid of all the channels that you do not use on the menu screen, limited and expensive sports choices, and the search typing is clumsy.

Grrreat.....but!!!

Being hearing impaired with a wife who is not, I was hoping that using the ear-buds would enable me to hear sound while my wife listened to programs at her normal level. Unfortunately using the ear buds cuts off sound to our amplifier. However, it beats the snot out of the "smart" TV we have. Could never watch Amazon Prime without it glitching and re-starting on a regular basis; however, with Roku there has been no disruption.

I've been looking for a good front-end for my digital media, and the Roku 3 is the best I've seen. It has a slick interface and hundreds of channels to choose from. Thumbs waaaay up on this device.

Good except for Netflix reception

The box works fine except for Netflix. Sound either comes across as clicking or slow moaning noises. Can not use for Netflix reception. Have to stream Netflix through my Blu-Ray in order to get reception with good sound.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this primary for Netflix and Vudu after we moved our PlayStation 3 to the basement game room. Excellent performance and value. Easy to setup and use.
