so many ways to enjoy via different channels

Mainly, I bought Roku so that I can watch Amazon Prime on TV rather than using my laptop. Definitely great improvement! I like the feature on remote control that u can plug in ur headphone and watch tv without disturbing others, especially at night.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Plug and play but lacking user options

The initial Roku registration was a real hassle. I had to reset a few times. After that it's all very easy. Just plug and play. But it lacks some essential user options.
Firstly you can't edit the network settings even the basics like static IP or DNS. Then in playback you can't edit the resolution so if you have a fast internet connection it defaults to full HD playback on Roku, Hulu and Netflix. Fine for me as I have a large data plan but many folks don't.
Power, you can't turn it off. In today's world of energy savings this is a really poor effort from Roku.
Great to have youtube now, but no Bluetooth to link a keyboard.
Would I buy Roku next time, as is no, but future models, it depends on the features. For video streaming off a PC XBMC is still a way better option on Apple TV.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great for work shop/Mancave

At first I was discouraged as the thing kept stopping and saying there was no connection to the internet. It was a waste of $100. Then I was told about a WiFi "EXTENDER" so I got one and it improved a lot but still not perfect. Found a connection meter in setup and was able to fine tune the extender. My Roku is about 90 feet from my WiFi router. GOODBYE Direct TV !!!!!!

I bought the Roku 3 about a month ago and just called and canceled my cable because it suits most of my television needs. With a subscription to Hulu Plus and Amazon Prime (which I had anyway) I get to watch most of my favorite shows. A few I cannot find access to without additional subscriptions and they are all different, so I decided I could live without them to save the $70/mon. on my cable bill and I will buy 2 more Roku 3's for the other rooms in the house. It is a great bargain and depending on your cable bill, it only takes a few months to recoup the initial investment. The Roku is easy to set-up and use (my 7 and 5 year olds are able to navigate the menu). I am an avid T.V. watcher (probably too much at 4-6 hours per day) and I am able to find plenty of content to keep me entertained.

I bought this to connect to amazon prime. It was very simple to set up and use. It makes it much nicer than connecting the computer to the tv. As a bonus there a lot of channels to choose from.

I got this a while ago. I LOVE it for watching Netflix and doing workouts but keep in mind that you might have to sign up for stuff outside of the Roku to assess content and not all of that is free. But if you have lots of apps like I do, it's well worth it!

I wanted to replace my apple TV device with another similar device and decided to give roku a chance... It didn't disappoint me at all. All functionality that I had with apple TV is here and a little more: The fact that you can use earphones attached to the remote so you won't disturb anybody around you is a sweet addition!
I didn't give 5 stars to roku only because one little detail: The roku never powers itself off. Apple TV used to power off by itself after certain time of inactivity this made the TV to power off as well when is not needed. This is perfect when you are watching TV from bed. With Roku I've woken up the next day and realize that the TV is still on... well I guess nothing is perfect!

We use it to stream movies, sports and music.. The connection and quality of the product far exceed the experiences I have had with other products by other manufacturers... I would only by Roku products going forward
