FAST & no dropouts

Got this as a gift for my wife. Performance is perfect so far. Content is not as good as i would have hoped for. Constantly looking through ancient titles.

Great usage, but deceptive

I got this thinking that it was compatable with HBO Go. It wasn't. It is very dependent on the specific cable/satellite carrier you subbscribe to. DirectTV does NOT work with Roku on this, though Roku is open for discussion, as far as I have researched. Nonetheless, the "HBO Go compatible" claim is debatable and deceptive. I ended up buying an Apple TV just so I can have HBO Go, but after using that device, Roku is the clear winner in terms of ease if use and application options. Also, the remote application for the iPad works WAY better than the Apple TV!!!

garbled audio regardless of channel

This worked for a few days with glitches then it stopped working no matter how many times we rebooted it, rebooted the rutoer, restarted the TV, changed HDMI cables, used amazon, other channels and externally saved videos etc... The USB output works only with SSD's and flash thumb drives, but not externally powered USB devices. It wouldn't view the common decrypted M4V format. Renaming the filetype to MP4 worked. This is not something you give to other people as a present. It's so riddled with technical shortcomings you may as well given someone a fruitcake and they would've been happier. This is a clever IP TV device, but you would fare better with an HTPC.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I exchanged my Googlecast for Roku because there is more content and it plays real HD - 1080, whereas Googlecast is only 720. I'm a happy and potential repeat customer.

Easy set up.

My Holiday gift to myself on the recommendation of my sister. Was most pleased with the ease of set up.
I am happy with the speed and design of Netflix and the fact that I can view Amazon Prime Movies, etc on my large screen now.
Lots more to find out about in regards to the additional features. Should be enjoyable.

Intuitive, useful, effective...love it!

Despite a weak wireless internet connection in our house, our little Roku 3 has no problems maintaining its connection. It has made all the difference in turning our old "dumb" TV into a "smart" one. There have been no problems with compatibility with our devices, the picture quality is great, and the variety of channels is wonderful. The interface is intuitive and easy to use and the kids love the games that are available. The earphone jack in the remote is a handy, great idea. So glad to have it!
