Great product; ditch the cable TV services

It's not uncommon to pay $100-150 per month for cable TV services. In a year, that's easily $1200 to $1800. This thing does just what cable TV does, and more.
I got these Roku set top boxes for my family to save money instead of spending it on cable bills. The only hesitation to adoption was not being able to get the local news channels. That is solved by getting a digital antennae, which picks up your local stations.
Our family has Netflix, Amazon Prime Instant Video, and Hulu Plus subscriptions. They're each about $8, and provide you with content on demand. You can also get "channels" like Plex that allow for streaming content from your computer, so you can watch your movies from there. This is a great product, and probably one of the best purchases I've made.

Overall we're happy with it. We use ours in our bedroom and without a backlit remote it makes navigating a bit more challenging. Other than that nothing else to complain about!

Best addition to TV viewing

I am quite impressed with my Roku 3. It was simple to connect and works perfectly. I also like the headphone capability. However, I was unable to hook up to some "free" channels because I was asked to sign in through "my" cable company and I don't have cable. That being said, so far there are many other channels and choices available.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought the Roku 3 as my "smart" Samsung TV does not have an app for Amazon Prime.
The Roku 3 took only minutes to set up. Anyone can figure this out, even if you have no tech experience at all. Super Easy!
I am thrilled with this device. It is so much faster than my "smart" TV. I honestly barely used the built in internet feature on the TV as it was so slow. The Roku 3 is a speed demon. You Tube videos play with no hesitation unlike my built in internet.
I highly recommend purchasing this device if you are looking for access to apps and other on-line features for your TV.
Love it!!

Great for expanding your media needs

I bought the Roku 3 for my wife as we just got a TV in our room. The reason for going with the 3 was the option of Netflix profiles. We are still exploring other possibilities with it at this time. We have had a few issues with the wireless, but they eventually solve themselves, usually with a reboot.
I would recommend this to a friend!
