A great choice!

I really like the ease of the Roku 3. We use it to watch Netflix and Amazon Streaming. I like that I can keep it on, so it gets updates, and it doesn't cost much more. In the beginning I had thought the remote was going to drain batteries like crazy because I used the ones that were included and they only lasted a day and a half. =/ I did change the batteries to some basic Energizers and it has been running for a couple months now. =)

Brainless set up, great channel line up

Have purchased two for our home since discovering extended wireless range and interesting variety of channels available. Easy set up, reliable reception.

I actually ended up getting 2 roku boxes for christmas. a 1 and a 3. the 3 did not come with a hdmi cable i had to buy one ( pricey). Then i get it hooked up and it asks for my credit card information. I wasn't very happy about that, I'm not the kind of person that like my personal info floating around like that. I start adding apps and i already suspect many of the apps need subscriptions which is ok for me. i sign up for a few, then i find out many apps like fox, ESPN and abc family can only be used if you attach it to a cable provider. I'm like wait a minute! i asked for this device to eliminate the need for cable! what a stupid feature. So now i can't use half the apps i wanted to use with my roku, a small subscription option would be nice but if you don't have cable you're not gonna be able to watch a lot of abc family shows as they air. And guess what?! there's no youtube app! ahhhh! it drives me crazy because vevo does not play many of my favorite artists. In general the roku is great, if you don't have cable, or is satisfied with what they offer on netflix which is getting less and less interesting by the day, then maybe you should invest in a wifi tv and call it a day,

I finally decided to wean myself off of cable and bought a Roku. Roku offers so many different programs and venues to stream movies with such simplicity and high quality.

Fantastic Device But...

I received the Roku 3 as a gift from a friend and I really enjoy it. Before I used the Roku 3 I was using a Chromecast which is an excellent streaming device but the Roku 3 blew my mind. There were so many applications that you can use on this device compared to the chromecast. However most of the apps that you would use (Netflix,Amazon,Hulu) requires a subscription in order for it to work because before I got the device I didn't have any subscriptions to any of those services. Recently Roku added the YouTube Feature which is what I mostly do during my free-time so when that came out I was grateful. However I buy all of my Movies & TV Shows from the Google Play Store and unfortunately they do not have a Feature to stream those movies yet. The controller for the Roku is fantastic, it feels extremely comfortable but it is a little bit small if you have big hands. The remote those has a jack for a headphone,ear-buds so if you don't want to watch movies through your speakers you can listen to it with your ear buds which is fantastic.Overall I would give this device a 9.5 out of 10 because This is the best streaming device out there right now with its massive selection of Apps that you can use.
