Fast streaming

I used to stream using a sony dvd player. Streaming is a lot faster using Roku, especially netflix. I love the device. However, two complaints. The footprint of the remote is pretty small, which is good, but it would have been better if it had a proper keyboard on it. It takes too long to type movie names when searching. Also, it would be nice if the roku movies were a little cheaper to rent. I would probably rent more movies if they were around $2 instead of $5 per movie.
Channel availability is pretty good. You can stream pbs, and a lot of other channels (HBO only if you have digital subscription on your cable. I have basic with free hbo and I cannot use hbogo). Any international channels, you can stream only if you have a subscription with dish etc.
Overall I think its worth the money. I kept my dvd player just for redbox, otherwise it takes the place of a dvd player.

I love my roku. It was easy to set up and easy to use.
My only problem seems to be that if the roku isn't used for a few days I have to pair the remote to the roku. Easy enough to do just annoying. Certainly recommend to a friend.

What a great piece of technology! The U/I is very friendly. Lot's of content to choose from. Very easy to set up. It is a massive improvement over Windows Media Center, which I was using before. Plus, less power consumption than an HTPC running all the time.

I received this as a gift for Christmas and I love it! It's very easy to use (I'm tech-impaired) and so much better than using my laptop.

Easy to use, and set up

We have used the Roku for a month now. It's easy to use, and have one minor problem which may not have been the Roku, but the movie we were trying to watch. The Roku tech support got us going in a few minutes.

We bought the Roku 3 in an effort to get away from the high cost and low content of cable. Can quite toss cable yet, but this thing is great. Coupled with Amazon Prime you get access to a bunch of TV shows and movies for free and tons more if you want to pay.

Great product. I have already recommended it to friends, and at least 2 have also bought one of these. All I bought it for was network streaming my own video/audio without tying up my PC (download the Plex app for this) which it does perfectly, but getting Netflix on here is a bonus for sure. I don't really use it for anything other than Plex and Netflix since I find it faster and more efficient to do most things on my PC.

I BOUGHT A NEW LG SMART TV DID NOT LIKE THE REMOTE. MY BROTHER TOLD ME ABOUT THE ROKU 3. IT HAD MORE CHANNELS AND WAS FASTER TO USE. BEST BUY I MADE IN 2013
