Disappointed

I purchased the roku 2 today to replace a two year old model I had with disappointing results. Over the span of a two hour movie it had too reload 4 times. It is not my internet connection as movies play fine on another tv that I have that is internet ready.Not sure why this is happening with this brand new box?????
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great device! Never going back to cable/satellite

I bought this last month and, along with an antenna for my local channel reception, was able to cut the cord from my satellite provider. Roku offers a huge variety of content and channels, much of it free and without commercials. I'll never go back to cable or satellite again!

I originally bought Chromecast to stream local content from my computer to my TV. However, Chromecast did not perform as I expected, so I've decided to buy the Roku. I am really happy with my purchase. It is easy to use, easy to setup, and has lots of interesting channels like YouTube, Hulu etc.. Since I am using the product overseas, I not able to watch or see some of the premium channels like HBO and the like. I would recommend the product to anyone who wants to stream content from his local computer without hooking it up directly to the TV.

Wish it could play more of mkv files

I was gifted this last december 2013. absolutely happy to use it. my biggest problem is it only plays the video of my mkv files, no audio. I tried different mkv file sources. but it is the same for all of them. note that I prefer playing high quality downloads, which are mostly in mkv I'm afraid.

Within no time I have been able to navigate the system without even looking at the buttons on the remote. Very easy to use and understand, trouble free.
