Great device!

We have a nice 46 inch flatscreen getting little use. So I put the Roku 3 on it. Installation was very easy. The menu is easy to navigate. We use it straight ethernet cable into the router. Streaming is very fast. Picture quality is 1080P. Highly recommend. One note: there is not as much "Free" TV as they lead you to believe. Many of the services you pay a la cart, or by subscription.

dumping DISH

We want to stop paying so much for watching tv. The first step dumping DISH was to get Roku. We were streaming with Wii but it would buffer a lot. The Roku streams so much better. We are very pleased with it and I would recommend it to anyone. One last thing......I was able to set it up myself with no problem.

Niftiest Gadget Since Sliced Bread

If you're into binge viewing, Roku is the animal for you. It's relatively inexpensive, very easy to set up (but make sure you get the HDMI cable if you don't have one), and it opens a whole new world of TV watching.
One downside is that to experience the most you'll need to purchase subscriptions to some providers, such as Netflix and Amazon and Hulu Plus. But even without these streaming providers, there is a lot there for you to watch whenever you want. In fact, you could replace a lot of your cable subscriptions with Roku, which would end up saving you a fair amount of money.
I waited quite a while before getting the Roku because I just wasn't sure (a) how easy it was to set up, and (b) how much we'd actually use it. Setup took maybe 15 minutes, and some of that was waiting for various providers to attach to our Roku. It was as simple as advertised. Once we scrolled through all Roku has to offer, we ended up watching Roku content every night. We're getting caught up on all the series we've missed over the years and thoroughly enjoying it.
I highly recommend Roku. They get it right.

Easy to Use and Fun

My daughter gave this to me for Christmas. It was so simple to set up! It has never gotten hung up and the global search feature is excellent.

Works Like A Charm

My Roku 3 does everything I expected. I bought mine last month and I'm very happy so far. The key is having a high speed internet connection. The reason I gave this 4 instead of 5 stars is I would like the apps that are free to try but cost money to purchase to NOT be in the free section. I downloaded apps when I first got my Roku 3 and later found out I would have to pay for them. I'm not talking about a few dollars, but a few dollars a month for some. Please take them out of the free section. Setting up many of the apps for me meant going to another room to use my computer and writing down an access code then going back to enter it in the app on the Roku box only to find out later I'd have to pay. A waste of my time.

Works great with newer TVs

Works great with my newer TV but I need to reset the device everyday on my older TV. The HDCP handshaking does not seem to stay
