New to internet TV

Well, to be frank thanks to Netflix I got a Roku, to my surprise it is a small neat product. Simple, effective easy to install and to use and cheap enough to make this purchase a no brainer. Get over it buy one now, worry later when Roku 99 makes you want to buy the newer model.

Many Movies & TV shows to Watch,hard on batteries.

I'm glad I bought the ROKU 3 for the movies and tv shows, but one of the reasons I bought the 3 is because of the ear phones. I wear hearing aids and the ear phone feature allows me to listen without disturbing others. The AA batteries that came with unit lasted 3 days. The second set of AA batteries lasted over a week, at this rate Ill send more on batteries than the unit. I don't play video games and I take the ear phones out of the remote when I'm done. How can I get more battery life?

Good product, lots of selection

I cut the cable months ago and was getting tried of hooking my computer to the T.V. The Roku 3 is great, easy to use and the ear phone jack on the remote is very useful. The selection of t.v. shows is good, movies are no problem if ya willing to pay for them.

Very good player

I like this player very much.
I have a couple of concerns I wish could be addressed. I'm not a fan of having my search history displayed for all to see, or recommendations based on my past viewing displayed for all. It seems to me that Roku could provide options in, for example, the Netflix app to hide, clear, or move the position of the search history.
Also the remote that comes with the Roku 3 is rather bulbous and tends to roll off arm chairs or sofa arm rests. And for some reason they moved the select (or OK) button away from the directional arrows. So you have to move off of the directional rocker just to select the choice. I don't understand why they just didn't keep it in the middle of the directional arrows.
These are small complaints compared to my overall satisfaction with the player.

Bought it right before Christmas - really have enjoyed dropping our Dish Network and using Hulu Plus and Netflix instead. Feels like we've gotten our lives back - by being able to watch what we want on OUR schedule!

With a strong internet connection, I have been very impressed. While channel selection is fair, the ones I'd be most interested in are on Roku anyway (Aereo, Netflix). Easy setup and easy interface is great.
