Freezing and Rebooting

We bought the Roku around September 2013. It worked great until November when it started freezing on us. Just a week ago it started rebooting when trying to load a movie. After tech support we were able to watch 5 mins. Of a movie before it froze and rebooted. 
    At the moment we are not very happy with the product and thinking of trashing the whole roku system.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

be good if it had a usefull home page...like local weather and time on it...top 3 local news...then the features on it...other than that it works great and we love it.

I bought this a little over a month ago. I was hoping that between this and buying an antenna, I could cancel my dish subscription. However, I'm reluctant to do that. The Roku seems fairly robust, but a good majority of the time, right in the middle of watching a show, it will pop up a message saying it can't continue playing that episode (or movie) right now. If I click on it again, it will then right itself and continue playing. It does this several times during each episode/movie and is getting very frustrating. I check my computer & phone for internet connection and it seems fine on those devices. The first 3 weeks of owning the Roku it didn't do this, so I'm quite disappointed right now.

Great streaming

Bought this device for Netflix and Plex streaming primarily. Interface is great, much better than the Sony Blu-Ray player interface (which is terrible). The one kinda major downside, because I have an older receiver, I can't run the Roku player with surround sound. Unknown to me, your receiver must have Dolby Digital Plus in order to recognize surround sound. I didn't know this until after purchase and asking Roku support. I have to run it in stereo. Otherwise, it's a good product.

I bought my first one before Christmas 2013 because I was doing away with my Directv an just loved that you can use your head phones in the remote. I haven't spent a lot of time with it because my grandson took it over playing games and watching Netflix. So I bought a 2nd one for Me! I love it so far. So many things to watch. I do think its too many OLD OLD movies, wish it was more up to date ones for free. But I will never be able to watch all the things that I want to watch anyway, so its 5 stars overall from me!
