A Great Bridge to the Content I Love

I used to watch Amazon Prime, Netflix, etc. through my PS3. This took start up time, navigating through a few windows, and listening to movies behind the whirl of the cooling fan when the unit heated up.
Now, with Roku, I can access all of my channels (including Playon) easily and without the cooling fan noise. Hook up was a snap, menus are ascetically pleasing and easy to navigate and the Roku ap as an optional remote adds a quick way to open the particular channel you want to watch (Amazon Prime, Netflix, PBS, etc) in one click.
Steaming is smooth, and the picture and sound are terrific. One other mention is the small footprint this device takes on/in your entertainment center. Congrats Roku, you got this one right!

Just what I needed

I don't watch a lot of cable TV, but Netflix and Amazon Video are great. My parents had the original Ruko, and so I knew I could expect a quality product when I found the Roku 3. It has a much more refined interface, and the headphone jack in the remote meant I could watch as late as I wanted. The remote app for my iPhone is probably the most convenient thing ever. I lose the remote a lot, and I can always use my phone, which is great because I can use the keyboard. The Roku is fast and almost always plays in HD, and the motion remote for games (like Angry Birds) is fun too!

Is the roku really worth it?

I didn't truly understand what the roku provided but was tired of investigating cable services,antennas,etc. i was able to finally set up my roku by myself and if i can do it anybody can.what i discovered is that theres only really a couple if channels you get for free, the rest will cost you to order a movie which was what i was trying to avoid! A bunch of added on fee's every month. i guess its better than high cable bills!

I like my Roku player! But, please make a deal with TFC to offer Filipino channel at a reasonable price or free would b even better. The Filipino content offered is not good.

Simple and Fast

I have bought this Roku a month ago. So far I am pretty happy with my purchase. The interface is simple to use. The device is streams videos without any lag. I mainly use this device to watch amazon instant video, Dishworld and ESPN. Using Dishworld app on Roku simply feels like watching cable tv, switching channels happens like flash without any lag. I would like roku even better if roku can improve their smartphone app to allow typing in roku in search fields/username/password something similar to XBOX smart glass.

Good device, fast but poor GUI

Device simple to turn on but implementation of new channel is painfull. Almost all the channel need subscription with monthly cost. I brought it back to the dealer. Useless for me.
