Great Features, With DirecTV Played Well Though

My family loves the Roku3, and I'd really love it more if DirecTV would play ball and allow Roku to display channels I already purchase through DirecTV. But that's not Roku's fault. Great format, love the Wii-like controller, and the price was right! Costco has a great bundle!
The only thing a little sketchy, is the 'Cooking Channels' which are pretty much regular people's YouTube channels. On the plus side, you can have your own Roku channel. If you do, please invest in good lighting and sound equipment! :)

Local file browser is ugly

All channels have the same boring interface. I expect a more beautiful experience with the media player build by Roku. For now, I only use the Roku for Youtube, Netflix and local network files with Plex. Plex has also an ugly interface. In the other hand, YouTube and Netflix did a fantastic job for the UI/UX.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great entertainment device

I purchased the Roku 3 to catch up on Breaking Bad on Netflix and play Angry Birds. I was not disappointed. My husband set it up with no problems. The device is small and sits easily next to the tv. I highly recommend the Roku 3.

I just bought Roku 3 a few weeks ago. I have 3-7 mbs internet speeds and have no trouble watching all that Roku has to offer. I love how it seamlessly connects me to Amazon Prime. My only wish was that there was a button for 'My Shows'. I love PBS's Nova series and I'd like to be able to have a shortcut to the series versus navigating to PBS and then finding Nova.

Great for my business

I purchased a Roku 3 for my business and unhooked our cable service. Customers have openly commented on how neat of a system the Roku is and love the features and menus that are available. As a business owner I am happy to have eliminated our cable bill.

The Little Box that CAN!

After a few web reviews, and ConsumerReports, purchased ROKU3 for our Master Bedroom. Setup was pretty easy... it found the WiFi nework and once configured worked flawlessly... Love the simple to use remote... playing Angry Birds with it is fun. Once our two kids saw it, they instantly wanted one... got them one for Christmas... our 15 year-old son hooked it up to the large screen in our upstairs game room, then discovered things about it I hadn't found yet... like an iPhone app to control it where YouTube videos can be found on his phone, then viewed on Roku. I found an Android app for my phone and use it the same way... much faster searching on the phone, then watching on Roku... use that a lot. My son found he could connect his WD Passport portable HDD to the USB port, and Roku provided enough power to view photos and movies from it. After about a week using it on WiFi, connected to wired network and discovered it's great for viewing photos and streaming videos from a media server. VERY impressed... only wish could have local TV channels, too. I'd dump our UVerse...

Awesome Streaming Player

I picked one of these up for my wife as a Christmas gift. We've used it basically every day since setting it up. We haven't had a TV subscription for years; with our Roku and our Leaf antenna, it's barely noticeable other than the occasional sports program. We had no problems setting it up and getting into it right away on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Pandora, etc. I only wish that it were possible to get NFL and NHL games through a Roku app! Then my TV-viewing world would be complete.
