Love my Roku!

I bought a Roku for our main TV, and Chromecast for our 'extra' tv thinking it would do the same thing, but I'd save a little money. The Chromecast is a pain in the butt, but we Love our Roku. The remote is really the best part about it. It's easy to pause, whereas the Chromecast is clumsy at best. I'm planning to get another Roku to replace the Chromecast so both our TVs are equally functional.
Roku is SO easy to setup and use. I thought I'd miss our cable channels, but not at all! We are locked into a contract for a little while longer, but I'm looking forward to canceling my subscription service very soon!

Best streaming device, unfortunately not so great for local media player. If Roku can have a great local media player like WD TV then I will give it 5 stars!

The Best Streaming Media Player

I bought this 1 month ago and just love it.Easy to use,simple setup,works with playon software for those of you that want unlimited free tv and movies.I have had other streaming media devices and almost gave up on them until i found The Roku 3.

Love my Roku

We bought our Roku about a month ago and are really loving it. The only problem is that the search is a little confusing. We like old TV shows and are having trouble finding some of them. But, we have found some new shows that we really like. All in all we like our Roku and are learning more about it every day.

Great product

I bought this for my son because he doesn't have a smart tv just yet. Setting it up was really easy to do over Wifi. I'm pretty technical, but I let my 11 year old set it up himself. The Roku allows several streaming video options like Netflix, but there are free services as well. The one I have lets him plug headphones into the remote, so listening to the TV from his bed is possible without bothering others. The games are cool, more of a bonus right now, not really what drew me to the purchase. Having some games available sets it apart from the Smart TV devices. I'd give it a full 5 stars if YouTube was installed, mostly because my kids like the crazy cat videos!

Roku Gift

I received the Roku as a Christmas gift. I find it very handy to watch movies on my TV that I would otherwise have to watch streaming on my computer. I subscribe to Netflix presently, but there are quite a few others available thru Roku.

It's OK!

Overall, its good with the high def quality and the quick streaming time. I think the advertisement video on HSN is a bit deceiving in regard to the many channels that come with the Roku. You have to pick and choose the channels you want and add them to your list. Be careful in choosing your channels because the monthly fees can add up to cost more than having cable would. The other major issue I found as a great disappointment is that if you are looking to use this device to cut the cost of satilite or cable tv, beware! While Roku offers channels like fox and Disney, for example, you cannot use these channels UNLESS you have satellite or cable tv. So, what purpose does one need a roku for if you have satellite or cable tv? If I had satellite or cable tv I wouldn't need to have a streaming device if you get my point. Didn't find it worth the while but it is overall an ok product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Greater selection of channels

It is running much hotter than the Roku 2 XS! Though I attached 16 GB memory card it still stops in the middle of the movie to reload, though mot as often as 2 version. I had the Roku 3 for less than one month so other surprises may still be ahead of this review!
