Why did I wait so long

I previously used my blue ray player to access streaming content. When I installed the Roku, which took about ten minutes, a new world opened up on my TV. I accessed Netflix much easier and Amazon Prime also became available. This is truly a good first step in cutting the cable.

I must admit I was skeptical about this product so I read many reviews and they
convinced my to give it a try, and now I am happy to say Roku is GREAT

Best Network Media Device Ever!

Paying extra to add limited features to a TV or Blu-Ray is silly with how fast the world of Internet based media services is changing. Buy the best 'dumb' display you can, and let the Roku 3 handle media services.
The folks at Roku are actively upgrading/updating their platform - unlike every major manufacturer of every other 'internet capable' multimedia device I own. It supports all manor of open platforms, and open source developers. Its got 'real' horsepower under the hood, and the simplest, most functional remote of any of them.

I bought two of these for my kids for Christmas because we got tired of moving our wii around to get Netflix on their TV's. It was simple to set up and even easier to use. They were really excited about the headphones that came with it! Now they can watch TV and not disturb anyone else. It does not come with an HDMI cable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is a good player....really my only issue is lack of netflix for my region and the constant buffering when watching movies..It's on a strong wifi network - I have smooth streaming on my laptop so I know it's not a weak signal problem.
There's loads of free entertainment..but after my initial exploration with it...I found myself back to my laptop for netflix-hdmi it to my tv and consequently forgotten about the roku
