The Roku 3 has more channels than the other brands. I no because I have one of the other brands.My grandkids love.

I am not a "tech" person, so I was a little intimidated at the thought of streaming television. The installation of the roku could not have been easier. LIterally "plug and play". It was so easy.
I bought the roku to lower my cable bill. I started noticing that myself and my teen children always watch our shows days later on either the cable dvr or an internet channel such as Netflix or Hulu. So I started wondering to myself why I was paying for cable, Netflix and Hulu, with a total bill of $150 a month. My first intent was to get Apple tv, since all of our other products are Apple. But after doing some research, I determined that the Roku gave me much more flexibility than the Apple. So I bought two. One for the upstairs, one for the living room. So what I normally pay for a month of cable, I had two Roku's. I called the cable company and upped my internet speed and dropped to basic cable (so I would have my local channels and some news channels). My bill went from $150 a month to $39, plus $16 a month for Netflix and Hulu. So thanks to Roku I'm saving $95 a month and we love everything about the Roku.

easy to setup, use. great netflix experience.
would like to see a couple of features though : 1. power switch ( unit doesnt switch off automatically under certain conditions. 2. audio outputs at the box as well and not only at the remote. ( if a couple of folks want to listen on headphones, it is not possible without extra equipment. )

Great way to watch my netflix and amazon accounts. I hate cable so this is perfect for me and much easier than pluggin the lap top into the t.v. My only complaint is there are a million religous channels on there which if thats your thing is cool but I don't need them and I definitely don't need 150 of them. lol. But if you want a cheap alternative to cable and an easy way to watch subscriptions it is a great purchase. I have two other friends who have it and they love it.

We love our Roku boxes

We had been using a computer for our streaming needs in our family room and it was less than an ideal solution. We canceled our satellite subscriptions and just had local TV channels and DVDs. We did not have any streaming for our bedroom TV. We purchased a Roku 3 for our TV in the bedroom. We loved it so much, we bought one for our family room as well and retired the computer. The remote is simple and easy to use with the on-screen menus. We have new streaming sources to explore. They both work great over wireless. We love both our Roku boxes and may purchase a third one for our rec room in the basement.

I was afraid to set it up so had to wait a few months before installing it but it couldn't have been easier. And using it is a breeze. We are 65+ and somewhat technically challenged so that's a great plus!
