I bought a different company's product and ended up throwing it away. I bought the Roku3 and it works like a charm.

Good product, usability could be better

We have Apple and Roku. Roku has better content with the glaring exception of Youtube. They're equally easy to set up. Roku is $30 less (a big advantage). But the biggest difference now that we've got them both purchased and installed is that the user interface and design for Apple is far superior to Roku. Apple always gets that kind of thing just right, though you pay a lot for it. The remote for the Roku is heavier, more complicated, harder to manage for your fingers, and less intuitive as to where buttons should be and what each of the many buttons mean. Even after having it for a month I still hate trying to navigate with it. It takes twice as long to type something into the search field with Roku as it does with Apple. I had been told before I bought the Roku that it had great search features, but I haven't found that they are any better than Apple's. The screen for Apple is less crowded, the vertical format is easier to view and scroll through and the smaller thumbnails make it easier to see options.
Whenever I can I use the Apple.

I bought this recently.what a amazing product good quality but less channels for the Canadian.i hope roku will add more Chanel's to roku canada.

Works Great 99.999 percent of the time

I'm very happy with the purchase of the Roku but it occasionally has problems. Sometimes it will forget there are headphones plugged in after pausing and restarting a video so I have to unplug and replug in the headphones. Also if freezes occasionally which is fixed by unplugging it, waiting a few minutes and plugging it back in again.

Better than Apple TV

I found that I like the Roku better than my Apple TV. It has more choices for buying and renting. And the Netflix app is higher quality.
