Credit/Debit card required

Cons: Need a debit/credit card to activate the Roku to start using it.
Needed to install (Plex server) on my server and (Plex channel) on the Roku to use my media.

Did not have to do any of this with my WD TV Live. All I needed to do was connect to my wifi > search for my server > user name/password and that was it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does most everything cable does

I bought this Roku not knowing for sure what I had to look forward to. What I can say is that when given a choice between watching on my Roku or resubscribing to cable I prefer my Roku, it is a wonderful investment and has everything I could possibly want in the way of entertainment. Games, movies, television shows, all in app style formatting. This little box provides my whole family with hours of enjoyment every week. The only drawback is that there are not enough channels that are free to watch with current programming. If you have a subscription to something like netflix or hulu you can watch it on the roku without having to try and stream it from your computer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Simple and Fun

I installed this a few weeks ago and was only thinking about using it with the amazon prime instant videos. However, the grand kids came over and started slinging birds all over my 50 inch screen a slamming pigs. We play it ever time they visit. The motion sensitive remote is also simple and intuitively designed. Worked well with Prime and my wife is binging on "Fringe" and is deep into the 3rd season. I am still exploring multiple channels and we have added several but have only added one that required an account. I have added and deleted multiple channels after exploring them a bit and finding they did not fit our taste. That was very easy to do and required no extra work. Really got into this because of the astronomical bills from my TV provider and wanted this as a supplement after I cut back my services to basic. It works so well I am thinking I don't need a TV provider at all but I haven't quite gotten there yet. Still looking at the content to see if it fills our needs but it is worth what we paid for it, saved $40 on paid TV programing a month, and may go up to $60 if we opt out completely from our provider. At this point we are using our Roku 3 more then the TV programing.

I'm lukewarm about it

it's good at what it does; however it comes up as being another wifi hotspott, this seems to be causing the devide to suck up most of the bandwidith of my home network, not to mention really slowing down internet speed. As a remedy, I need to unplug the devide. As a result of unplugging the device, I now hardly use it.

Sorry it took me a month to review it but I couldn't stop watching long enough! I'm an Amazon Prime member and have spent the past month watching my library, prime movies and checking out all the other content on Roku! Naturally it also has Netflix, but frankly, I've not used it yet. We have a Blue Ray wireless streaming device and it is terrible compared to the Roku. Roku makes it so easy to stream tv without all the fuss and buttons. My husband is always struggling with it while I'm already into my movie on my Roku. I highly recommend it, especially to those who may not be so tech savvy. I love adding channels that Roku emails me about and there's always something to watch! I don't even use the cable tv anymore! I must mention that one of the best features is the fast forward (while paused) - you see the frames of the show that makes it very easy to go to an exact point in a show that you want to or skip the credits (and loud music) at the beginning...

Great for netflix

when i 1st got it i was disappointed that i only watch the main profile but then they updated it and now its awesome, lot faster then my blue-ray with netflix.
