Goodbye cable!

With Roku you get better TV, a nice user experience (their good software worth the Roku price), with less advertisements, and almost for free. I recommend a subscription to some paid services like Netflix and Hulu.

Nice Addition to My HDTV

My current Sharp Smart HDTV would not allow me to add Amazon Prime as an app or any other apps for that matter. Now with my Roku 3 I can add apps easily and there are no restrictions that I have found to-date.

Have had my Roku since 2011 with no issues or problems and with new channels being added and a need for better speed it is time to update to a newer model. Feel I got my money's worth as the Roku is a wonderfully dependable and economical value for entertainment. This just may be the year I cut the cord. Thank you Roku.

Easy to setup, great picture reception

It is crazy to pay $100+ a month for cable tv or direct tv, get hundreds of channels and then only watch your fav 3. I got Roku, it was way easy to plug in and get password from email. I only pay for the movie/tv channels i want, my fav two are under $18 per month.

Remote is OK

The remote could be better. The 'OK' button is poorly placed. A more intuitive and easier to find placement would be centered between the up/dn right/left arrows.
Some shows are available only in stereo while others are available in 5.1. It would be nice if the Roku unit could select stereo when that is the only option that will work.
Actions such as selecting Netflix are slow to load.
When hovering on a show it would be nice to see the name of the show as some do not clearly identify themselves. This may be Hulu's fault, but I feel it's worth mentioning.
I would like the option of clearing shows from my history. I don't like that my house mates can see what I've watched.
This is definitely Hulu's problem, but I wish they would make the latest shows available sooner.

We are currently in the process of cutting the cords and getting rid of cable. Buying the Roku 3 was the first step and it didn't disappoint. It is super easy to hook up, easy to use and has a lot of channels to offer that I haven't explored yet.

Fast and convenient

Mainly wanted it to view Netflix/Amazon Prime on TV.  Have had many issues with Netflix based DVD players being slow and having to reset the player.  No issues with Roku.  We have no cable channels or even over the air antenna.  Many great free channels. Ted Talks are amazing.
