Exactly what I wanted...

I wanted to get rid of cable tv, and Roku has been a great solution. I mostly watch Netflix and Amazon Prime, so I've been happy with the available content. If I had a wishlist, I'd like to be able to view my iTunes content, but I prefer the options available on Roku to those on AppleTV.

Much faster and good features

I bought this Roku 3 last May and had some trouble with it. Just had it replaced with a new one and so far so good. I love the features in the '3' model. I have two other Roku machines so it's easy to tell the difference. The biggest problem I had before was that the batteries lasted about 3 days. I had to remove a battery after every use in order to have any longevity. The Roku tech told me that it was a malfunction related to the other problems with my unit. I am hoping that is correct.
To me Roku is the top of the heap and other than the malfunction I am very happy with all of the units...but especially the 3. The one thing that bugs me is the keyboard used in set up. The alphabet is screwy with 'a' and other letters completely out of place. It takes too much time to track down the letters when setting up.

Most of it works Great

Most of it works Great, but some of the featured channels and programs are no longer valid.  Preloaded channels are obsolete with outdated materials to offer.  The Unit works great, but not not all movie channels work smoothly with controller, cannot backup or rewind without loading the whole movie from the beginning.

Ditch the cable companies

Comcast was gracious enough to lower my channel selection while at the same time hiking my rates beyond what I was willing to pay. Their customer retention rep flat out said if you don't like it then try somewhere else. I took his advice and switched internet providers and cut cable altogether. It has been almost a month and I could not be happier. All of this was made possible by my Roku 3 which works awesomely. I am able to quickly search through my streaming services (Netflix, Huluplus, and Amazon) and find shows and movies that I want to watch. I also have a decent indoor antenna which covers most of the channels I was getting from Comcast anyway. My satisfaction with services is now really high and I am saving about $45 a month. I recommend this to everyone I know in the hopes they will cut the cable as well. It is not as simple as point and click to install but it is very straight forward. It is a little slow to enter passwords via the remote but once it is done you are set.

Great features except it keep freezing on movies and videos. Each time I have to unplug it for it to rest.

Use mainly for weather channels, Hulu & Netflix. Works well, menus are easy to navigate. Channels are programmed independently, use their own interfaces, and generally follow no common standard, which can be confusing. Purchased and was unable to get a 16GB SanDisk Ultra microSDHC UHS-1 Card with Adapter to be recognized by the Roku 3.

Use it MUCH more then initially expecte!

The Roku 3 has been impressive so far with its ease of use and flexibility. My smart tv lags with netflix so much i couldn't stand to use except for a last resort. The Roku is a whole different story. Everything flows so smooth and loads very fast even with my so so dsl connection. The movies you rent through some of the channels are excellent quality.
I haven't tried the USB function yet but I'm sure that will work just fine from other experience with how this unit operates
The only negative thing i have to say about it is the fact that Roku and Directv don't get along for use with some services, i.e HBO go and Fox news channel. Although from what Ive found out it is a Directv issue not Roku. Other than that this thing is great, Use it almost everyday!
