Great....but!

Roku 3 works great right out of the box, especially for Netflix, and the built-in headphone jack in the remote is fantastic. Not so great is the inability (in Florida anyways) to hook up to HBO GO. Comcast and/or Roku have dropped the ball on this feature, which sorely disappoints, but the headphone thingy is the cats' ... I will keep it for that alone.

As the title says this is by far the best. I only wish it had more free content, even after downloading the private channels I still want more!

Works great - easy to install once I figured out how to set up a router.
Very easy to add channels

The Roku 3's new interface is elegant, simple and most importantly, fast. I was getting tired of slow streaming media players, tablets and phones but this new streamer has the processing power necessary to navigate quickly and without growing frustrated. Furthermore, the selection of free channels is great and continues to grow as well as interesting apps to control other hardware around the place. With Aereo or better yet, a future free alternative, Roku is positioned to replace both broadcast and cable television and that's good news for the consumer.

I've had my Roku 3 for a couple of months now and am really enjoying it. I am on a quest to cut the cable cord completely and I am almost there. The only thing I am missing are some live sporting events. Many of the channels seem kind of goofy to me. I mainly use Netflix, Youtube, Pandora, and Hulu plus. The Roku has "frozen" on a few occasions when watching Netflix or Youtube but I'm not sure if Roku would be at fault. It only freezes for a minute or two when it does happen. To be honest, I am not sure what the differences between all of the Roku models are. I do like the remote with the headphone jack in it but it tends to go through batteries very quickly. There is a bit of an annoyance as Comcast (my cable/internet provider) will not allow me to access certain channels. For example, when I try to watch Fox on my Roku I get a message telling me that I should just watch Comcast Fox On demand instead. Okay fine, but I'm not paying Comcast for HD service so...Little things like that are irritating but it's Comcast's issue, not Roku. Also, I can't wait for HBOgo to be available because it's not available now on Roku unless you have HBO through your cable provider. All in all Roku is pretty good and I recommend it.

Owned for several months now. Building my channel list as I go. Was able to watch all the college bowl games and NFL payoffs on the ESPN channel. Many free channels with old movies and shows from way back when. Quality of content is as good as the channel provider. Cheaper than buying a PC for every TV. If your not able to get free digital TV through an antenna due to location the ROKU is for you.

This was sent to me by my daughter as a Christmas present....one of the finest presents I've ever received. I love almost everything about the Roku. I am amazed at the TV channels, movies, news, sports...this is really high-end and fabulous. I have one constant 'glitch'....the earphones work for 5-15 minutes, then go dead. The sound then returns to the TV, but I can no longer control the screen with the remote. I have to unplug the Roku itself, then replug it. I've had 3 remote sessions with Roku but the problem just won't get fixed. The other thing, you're supposed to be able to control the volume with the Roku remote but I have found that to not be the case. I have to use my TV remote to control the volume. Aside from the issue with the earplugs, I think the Roku is wonderful modern technology and I love it.
