I bought a few of these a few weeks ago and REALLY have come to rely on it as my primary source of entertainment at home.  This pushed the "no cable" decision in the house over the edge!

I've had the Roku 3 for a few months now and it works like a charm. Lots of channels/content. Crisp response and intuitive design (including the remote). Super easy to set up.

I have had my Roku about a month. It looks like solid black plastic.
I can attest to the fact it isn't. This little gem is solid GOLD.
I could kick myself for not getting it the day it was introduced.
I never watch cable TV anymore. They are going bye-bye in 3,2,1
One word? Fantastic !

Review of New Roku 3 Bought Late Nov 2013

Set it up with no problems.  Used it for several weeks with no issues and then suddenly we got the blue screen of death - said HDMI problem.  Unplugged both the HDTV and the Roku and the HDMI at both ends.  Then reassembled it all back and it worked again.  Figured this out through trial and error.  HDMI cable is high quality.  Based on other reviews, it seems Roku made a firmware modification that is causing this problem.  Not happy about it but for now it is working again.

The best streaming device out there!

Very easy to setup right out of the box. We had it up and going in 10 min. Go to the channel store and pick your channels. It's that easy. Super fast streaming and crystal clear picture. Remote is great other than the rounded back. Doesn't sit well on the coffee table. Usb port to plug into and watch your own content. I wish it would play more file formats though. Other than that, it's awesome! Well worth the money!

I got this as a gift and my boyfriend and I use it all the time. It's wonderful and easy to use, and I'm glad that I can view online content on it. I can basically get anything I want. Hopefully this will catch on as an alternative to cable because, frankly, purchasing this one time and having subscriptions to only a few of the services actually gets you just as much TV, but for half the price or less. Not to mention a couple of these services just give you an HD option automatically. I don't typically watch a lot of live TV, to be honest, so I could see a drawback in that realm, but a lot of these services have the new episodes of shows up within a reasonable amount of time. I don't see an issue with paying for a few of the services because they're all relatively cheap, but to get a full selection of all the shows you want it may be necessary.
The only issue I have is with the remote - though simple in function, maybe a keyboard or something for searching might be helpful. It's really tedious right now. I understand a lot of these it's going from a relatively unrestricted device (mouse) to a very restricted device (remote), but while we got it within a few minutes, it still is a bit strange in terms of navigation. Maybe a better way to indicate what exact show you're on? I was thinking of Hulu in particular because that's the service we're mainly using - at least for right now. (My boyfriend likes all the anime on there. haha)
Otherwise, I like this device a lot!
