Best streaming device

I bought this gift as my Black Friday gift to myself. I absolutely LOVE this device. I use it all the time. Great audio, HD resolution, 5.1 audio, remote can act like a streaming device where you can plug in headphones (a great feature I have used when I can't turn the audio up in the house). I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a great streaming device. The best device for the price!

The Roku is quick and easy to set up. I usually have problems with my wifi setups but not with the Roku 3. Would have gone faster but I had to dig for info to find that little button in with the remote's batteries to sync it with the Roku. Even though I LOVE being able to use the earbuds with the remote, the earbud quality was a disappointment. They were muffled and tinny sounding. I used my maxell over the ear headset which gave much better sound but it eats the remote's batteries in about 3 days. So I'm just going to buy a charger and get rechargeable batteries. You're going to have to pay for a couple of channels to get decent content (at least for me). I'm just using Netflix for now. But there are a lot of options on other channels. Still, the fees are nowhere near what Comcast charged me ($7.99 for one movie OnDemand, when I can get the whole of Netflix for that per month). You do need a computer to connect to some of the channels. Some only work if you have cable or satellite because you need to have the rights to watch them (like FOX). I'm still going through commercial withdrawal and kind of miss "live" TV. I have to choose what I want to watch each time, which is a little tedious figuring out which episode I like (but I AM watching what I like). Nice to have some older shows that I missed also. I'm enjoying catching up on those. I did find the sound cuts out now and then but otherwise it's an incredible viewing experience. I did buy the HDMI cable from Roku also but I found I could get two for the half the price on eBay. All work just as well. Overall, an incredible little unit.

Great little streaming box.

I was impressed with what was on here without paying for a subscription, but paying for a few of the channels, really opens things up. Broadcast quality is impressive, but bandwidth makes everything better.
As for pet peeves, I just have one. I wish the box wasn't on all the time. Even the ability to add a reduced power mode would be nice. But given that the remote communicates via wireless network, it has to be in a semi awake state pretty much all the time.
Too bad I can't connect the remote through my home network so that you could use a "wake on LAN activity" feature.

Nice Streaming Device

I brought this a month ago an happy with results. Only issue is that wireless connection with less bandwidth from Internet provider create issue with Roku. It resets Display resolution and next time it does not work without taking off HDMI or Power.

I replaced my Apple TV in the living room with a new Roku 3. It is much faster and has so many more channels. I love it!

I bought my Roku 3 as a Christmas present to myself! I was going to purchase a BluRay with streaming, but the Roku 3 is so much smaller, faster, and more convenient! Worth every penny! I love my Roku 3!
