Great for streaming. Wish it had better USB player

Fantastic for Netflix, Amazon, and other Internet media. Wireless connection is very good and the responsiveness is really good when navigating. The ability to browse YouTube on a laptop and play it on the Roku is really slick. My only complaint is that I have a lot of music and video on a USB drive and Roku's ability there is very limited. Most of my video is DIVX avi's which don't play and Roku does not recognize m3u playlists which I also have a large number of. I was able to solve the m3u issue by writing my own player (another nice feature if you're a developer) but the Roku only plays a couple of video formats making my collection useless there unless I reconvert them all to a recognized format.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Why I went with the Roku 3

This is my second unit. Bottom line great service and great money saver. I was paying over $120.00 month for TV (satellite). Total investment $1,440 per Yr. Went with Roku 3 for HD as well as local HDTV plate (antenna) for $34.00 now I get all the service and local channels I want for a flat fee of $134.00 and done. No monthly fee, No other service required. Would recommend the Roku 3 to anybody.

nice piece to own, but you still have to sign up for a lot to get movies etc.

We bought it as a Christmas present to ourselves and it works great. Easy to setup and offers a lot of options for us to use.

Really like having the Roku 3. The only notable issues is when using the remote with headphones, I've found depending on your wifi network the sound may occasionally cut out. Having a high through put router running and switching from 2.4Ghz to 5Ghz pretty much solved the problem. Or you can always hard wire LAN to get the best performance (not an option in my case). Also, I've found the batteries in the remote need to be changed out quite frequently. Apart from that it's been working great! I use it daily, mainly for Netflix.

I bought the Roku 3 a month ago and we are all so happy with it. It's simply a much better way to connect to our favorite streaming channels (Netflix, Amazon, and now YouTube). It is ten times easier to use than our brand new smart tv, and just a better overall experience. The movie search feature alone is worth the price of the Roku (select a movie and the Roku goes and scans all of the services and tells you where it is). How easy is that?
Well done on the design of this great new toy!
