Makes Cutting the Cord Easy

I've had my Roku3 now for almost a year and have not looked back. I cut the cord from Cable TV and love the expanded choices and flexibility it has given me (Apple and Google really don't compare for choice). I had a standard speed internet account but upgraded for faster streams. Both do work well for Roku, but if you are a power user, recommend the turbo upgrade. Some of my channel favs are Netflix, Aereo for NYC, Amazon, Nowhere TV (a must), Crackle, SkyTV, PBS, Weather Underground, TuneIn, Pandora,

Love it!

Started to panic when Blockbuster stopped its mail service. What would we do on Friday movie night? A little research and I found Roku 3. Meets my needs and more. Now it can be movie night each night of the week for a small fee to Netflix! Not to mention several free channels - like PBS, and college lectures, lifestyle and travel.

better than a smart tv

We bought a 'smart tv' for our bedroom. We only had cable up to then, and loved the variety available from 'internet' tv. We then bought a roku 3 for our living room. I wish I had bought that first, I would not have bought a smart tv. The roku was easy to set up. And it can be moved to any tv. The roku remote is better (eg back up 9 seconds, I use that frequently when I did not quite hear something). I use the headphone jack on the remote quite a bit. I thought that was a 'gimmick', but when I want to listen to something loud (think music videos or football games), or if the wife goes to bed earlier than me (often), I can play it as loud as I want. And the menus, etc. are much more 'intuitive' on the roku. My wife found the roku easier to navigate than the smart tv. We have had this for about 2 months, so far nothing bad to report.

We love our Roku, we just upgraded to the 3. The only issue we've ever had with it, is Hulu doesn't work very well. I don't know that it's a Roku issue, it could just be a Hulu issue, but we have 3 Rokus in our home and Hulu doesn't work on any of them. It opens, but when you pick a show to watch, it goes to a black screen and never loads.
Other than that, we enjoy our Roku and use it more that watching regular TV!

Ease Of Use

I have had Roku for about 6 weeks and I love it. I am catching up with all the shows I never had time to watch, through Netflix. The set was simple easy to follow setup.No complaints so far

A little over a month ago I bought the Roku 3 for my wife. Worked great and the features are remarkable. So good that I bought a second one for my studio. Tried another brand media player first. Even thought it was the same price as Roku 3 it was as different as day and night, the other brand did not have near the features and free apps as Roku 3. One great product!

A really outstanding innovation

I am greatly impressed with the huge variety of tv shows and movies I can watch on Roku. Moreover, it streams smoothly and provides closed captions for shows (Netflix, for example) that don't have CC on my particular TV.
We hardly watch regular TV, Roku is about all we need.
