no external keyboard!

roky 3 does not support an external keyboard.
making a simple search using the remote is extremely cumbersome, time consuming and annoying. on top of that the remote is pretty slippery too.
using the remote to type in a simple movie name to search, can take a couple of minutes using the letter grid and correcting a spelling error requires that you erase
everything you typed so far...
i hope roku will add the option to use a wireless keyboard.

Although I have cable, the Roku enables me to view shows and movies not available on demand. I very much appreciate being able to watch the shows on my TV and not being restricted to sitting in front of the computer (don't have a laptop).

I bought this Roku primarily because I want to "cut the cable cord" and my brand new "smart" TV turned out not to be so smart after all, and connecting my computer to the TV is not always convenient. The Roku is smart and convenient, although, my WIFI is not strong enough for good streaming. Enter the ethernet cable that connects directly to my router, and all's well. My viewing habits are simple and I don't demand much of the device but I do wish I could control it with my TV remote, or vice versa, so I would only need to keep track of one of them. I also wish there were a way to turn it off other than unplugging it so it doesn't continue to draw power even when I'm not using it. I love that there's a headphone jack on the remote, though. It does what I needed - and much more that I haven't explored - may not be interesting in paying for.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Little Interface

I bought this to be able to get some channels that were not available on satellite. Very easy to set up and use. We have friends that recommended Roku, they were right.

Great product. I have hoped for more 2 way information on the media player, like song que and access to the media library when a song is playing.
