Easy to Use

We bought this after reading the reviews about people doing away with their cable. That really true. ALOT of the movies are not free. You have to have subscriptions and you are charged when you watch TV shows. We thought you would not be charged for tv shows (when you wanted to catch up on your shows if you missed a week) Other than the charges for the the GOOD movies and shows. It is nice to have an alternative to TV ingeneral.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I received as a gift and LOVE IT! I can finally stream Netflix any time I want. I really haven't taken advantage of other uses. I love the ease and convenience of Roku. I had given my son's family one a few years ago, can't believe I didn't get one then.

bought because it allowed me, with ease I might add, to view a pay per minute adult channel. works as promised. also combined my vudu, amazon, hulu plus other sites available from store. some free, some not. only gave 4 stars because other then me, nothing is a 5.

Works well with occasional problems

The earlier versions of roku players had some problems, but the most recent version works very well.
I have two of them connected to TVs in different rooms. I had a lot of trouble connecting one of them to my WiFi network, but I eventually figured out that another range extending device near it had developed some problems and was interfering with the signal. It works well now after disconnecting the other device. Keep that in mind if you develop similar problems.

Very happy with the purchase. There was no youtube channel when I bought but they added it on--- wow.

Roku great unit

This is much more than the first Roku unit I purchased years ago. This "little" unit has opened up a large amount of entertainment . It has cut my viewing of regular television network programming to almost nothing. I have been give the opportunity, to do my own programming. The heck with the major networks and what they want to feed me. "I" watch what "I" want to watch. Thank you ROKU.

As one reviewer said on the front page a slight buffering if you jump ahead on a hd movie but the unti works great. Plenty of content to choose from, tech support is fast to answer any questions

Plex app works nice and adds even more channels to the line up
cons:
A credit card is required to register the roku......this is a con for me because i already pay for cable. I don't intend to pay for the same content 2 times
