I like it, but.....

It's actually a very nice, clean device. I like it much more than my Apple TV, however.... The free stuff is mostly old, C/D movies or stuff I don't want to watch. Whenever I think I'm about to watch something free, I get a surprise. ($$$) I love that I can watch music videos and listen to music and all. All in all, I think its much better than my Apple TV. The remote is great and the earplugs for the remote work great. I would recommend it. Oh, and if you download Plex, it's a breeze to watch the movies I already own from my computer.

Solid Choice

We did it. We cut AT&T out completely. Uverse costs are outrageous and they only give pricing breaks to new cusotmers. So, after much research we decided to go with the Roku. It is a solid choice for streaming. Easy to use and works. I do wish we could stream more things internally but opted for the ease of use for the family. Most of the 'thousand free channels' are only free to install. You still have to pay for the content. But there are a few with free content, mostly older programs, movie previews, entertainment news and such. But we cut our TV/Internet cost in half, have faster internet and can choose what and when to watch on Netflix and Hulu.
I would recommend this to a friend!

best streamer

As streamer it has no equal partner in quality. Easy navigation, many apps for extra entertainment.
One star gone for the following:
Absence of YouTube and media playing capability. No native option to connect to a local network requires another device to cover this (smart hub or Xbox). A third party solution does not solve any of the above - playing files is very limited to format.
No sound out. The most curious miss of the product. Radio stations in thousands for all preferences keep your TV on to listen, therefore - No option for theater sound.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great entertainment gadget

Very happy to use this device, I like it a lot, still it has some drawbacks.
1- The remote control is very good; it would be better if it had it's own tv on or off button plus volume control of tv.
2- Since there are so many channels nested in each other, it is very difficult to find it the next time, it would be great if there was something like a favorite folder to drag into; anything you would like to view again without going into time taking search again.
3- Over all, I am very pleased to use Roku ever day and waiting for some day there would be more featured equipment in my hand.

Replaced Boxee Box and it is awesome!

For someone that uses everything online I was looking for a replacement on my Boxee. The Boxee while served me perfectly is going out of business so I am looking for another device. Enter Roku 3... Works perfectly for playing music, movies and apps.
