Now our primary source of television

This devices is awesome. We purchased one a few months ago and have replaced Dish, DirecTV, or Cable with it. It is now our primary source of television and movie viewing, along with Netflix and Hulu accounts to support it. Easy setup (it walks you through most channels). You do need a robust internet connection for a good experience but it will work with a medium grade internet connection (did that, now have a better connection).

I like the Roku 3 but it needs to be able to play You Tube!!! and the addition of more classic video games like pacman, asteroids etc. please add you tube functionality

I had a friend tell me about this and it is awesome! I can watch what I want when I want. They don't have everything but they have a lot to choose from and they're are very fair with pricing.

I purchased my Roku 3 about 3 months ago. It works like a charm. It Now has all of the major streaming services on it with the addition, FINALLY, of an official YouTube channel. For me that makes this product complete. For the price of under $100 it is an absolute bargain. It was my favorite purchase of 2013.

I bought the Roku 3 on sale recently, and couldnt be happier with the purchase. It's a breeze to set up, and has easy access to all the content my family needs. Using a Plex client, i'm able to view all of our home video/audio/shared media easily.

Hands Down - Best I've Used...

I REALLY have to like something in order to take the time to write a review on anything. I’ve toyed around with several DNLA devices and streaming players over the years and this little unit is hands down the best I’ve seen.
Setup was a breeze. Loading and streaming is lighting fast – and has yet to choke up a single time. (A major issue with other players I’ve used.) Love the interface and the ability to search for a single movie or show across multiple services and providers.
This was not only thought out and designed really well, its rock solid in regards to specs and performance.
Even if you have another streaming media player – I’d highly recommend this unit if you’re a fan of streaming and watching a TON of content. (Far more than I’ve seen from any other device I’ve seen.)
The only feature it really lacks is an optical out going into my receiver for audio. (Amazon has a splitter that will take the HDMI and split out the optical to solve this issue.)
I would recommend this to a friend!

Set up for other countries a big negative

The biggest failing is that it is much more difficult to use with programs such as It is not suited to use programs such as Unblock-us. for someone who travels to more than one country and wants ease of of set up.
I would not recommend it because of this failing.
I just went out and bought an apple TV that I will use on another TV here and when I travel.
