Love it!

So happy I finally got the Roku. I had previously become familiar with it over at my boyfriend's house and it really spoiled me. The interface is so much smoother and easier to navigate than either the blu-ray player or xbox I have used in the past!

problems with the player

Have not been able to get it working after it worked the first couple of days. Tried to do a factory reset and now the player is stuck on the language screen and will not move.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Compliments my Apple TV

I already own a wonderful Apple TV, so I was unsure if the Roku 3 would be worth the investment. It is. The content fills in gaps in my Apple TV. It is easy to use. The headphone jack on the remote is downright genius. My only complaint is that it is almost impossible to start the Roku up without entering a credit card. I wanted to try the basics for free first, and it took some time with customer service to get it done. Otherwise, it works very well, and I am happy that I bought it.

Give new life to you TV

Good way to get netflix, and other steaming videos. Would like to have more "local channels and radio station". Also there is room to improve the search experience and the remote control capabilities (maybe a keyboard in the back?).

It actually works.

For two years we have been trying to connect our TV to the wireless internet in our home. We bought new routers, extenders and even considered spending a few hundred dollars to have our large house completely wired for internet. Our two sons told us about Roku and we purchased the best one Costco had. As we easily hooked it up I was afraid to get up my hopes after so many frustrating failures. To our delight it works wonderfully and we've recommended it to our friends.

Great product, it allowed me to eliminate cable on two tv's in our house hold. I feel like it gives me more control on what I am spending to watch tv.

A must for Plex users

I wanted to be able to play a selection of movies, TV shows etc and also have a Netflix. I initially bought an Apple TV and the Netflix support was excellent, however, trying to play movies was a pain and using airplay from an ipad gave mixed results. I then bought a WD Live box and ran it for about a week. Although it was able to play the movies / TV the interface was very slow to navigate and Netflix support was very poor. Now onto the Roku, I had been using Plex for several months and had put in a bigger server running MS Home Server 2011. Using the Roku 3 with Plex is a fantastic combination and the Netflix support is very good. It's great to be able to start watching something on the iPad and then come home and resume playing it! The Roku buffers up Netflix very quickly and provides full support for HD movies & Subtitles. The ability to use headphones on the remote is an unexpected bonus!
