Very handy - good features

Bought on a recommendation. Easier to use than going thru the DVR or TV. Better features. Easy search. Easy to set up.

Roku's Extra Features

I love my Roku player. It is great to get Netflix on my tv now and other free stations as well. I also like the fact that I have hooked it up with Aereo and now I can record tv shows in Aereo's cloud dvr player. The only criticism I have is that I have a lot of movies that I would like to watch from my micro chip and they are not in the format that Roku provides. I wish Roku accepted more formats. I have to convert all my movies to the Roku format. That is not cool. I hope that Roku will fix this.

Easy to hook up and use

I bought this at Amazon and hooked it up with an HDMI connector, which I already had. Though it took me a while (and contacting support) to figure out how to turn off the closed captions (wouldn't let me select off under the movie), everything else about this devise is great. The thing I REALLY like is being able to plug the ear phones into the remote control, and having a Netflix button on the remote.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This product is real easy to setup and it has great streaming capabilities. My only wish is that there were more channels similar to cable that would be available. There were shows I watched but now cannot on the Roku.

I use mostly for Netflix and other movie channels. And now youtube. I am in the process of getting rid of some cable services that I don't use anymore. And I'm no longer a news junkie with so much so watch. Just finished all forty episodes of The Tudors and prior to that The Borgia. Also, love the remote with headphones and volume control.

This is a very nice little add on machine but it does lack the one thing that every one wants??? YOU TUBE!! it needs this then it will be number 1 but until then :(

The only negative that is a disappointment is the lack of access to YouTube. Even my previous $30 unit had that. I purchased it however primarily for the ability to use with my Slingbox. I am however somewhat disappointed that the Slingbox needs a separate wifi device to control the menus, although I realize that this is due to the software from Slingbox, not Roku.
