Almost an apple tv replacement

I've had the roku 3 for about a month and am quite happy with it. Its UI has a very TIVO like feel to it. A couple of things:
* I couldn't get HBO to go to work on it because Comcast doesn't support roku for hbo to go. Lame. If I could use my roku for HBO to go, I would get rid of my apple tv.
* I really really like the unified search feature. It makes me wish there was a unified browse feature. It saves your previous searches, which is a life saver. I would be nice to be able to filter on video quality and free/rent/own.
* As far as I can tell, there is no support for 3d at this time. On vudu's website they show 3d versions of movies, but they aren't accesible via the roku. Not really a big deal, but there you go.
* Its nice to be able to jump out to the home screen directly (unlike apple tv). However, I wish when you reentered a channel it would take you back to where you were in the channel instead of dumping you at the top nav.

Bought mine at Sam's Club about a month ago. I can always find something to watch, and a huge amount of the programming is free!

After my parents loving their Roku, I decided I needed to try this for myself. This little black box has opened a whole new world of TV. It brings plug and play to a whole new level.

Best media device ever!

I have had this device since Christmas, which is not very long. However, it has exceeded my expectations already. I use Plex Media Server which works "sort of" with the XBox 360 and PS3 DLNA clients, though they both have their quirks. This device, with the free Plex channel, has worked flawlessly from day one! The other channels on this device also work very well: Netflix, Spotify, Amazon Instant Video, etc. This thing is amazing! Navigation through the menus is smooth and fast. Playback is excellent. This is, by far, the best device I've ever used in my home theater setup.

I love it, I just wish it had YouTube as well. So many channels to choose from and most of them free. I recommended to all my friends.

Big Bang for your Buck

This tiny little Roku 3 fits in the palm of my hand. Easy hookup to my secure WiFi LAN. My kids didn't know what to think about mom having this savvy technology. You should have seen the look on their faces when they saw how small it was and all that you can do on the Roku with the remote. We had a blast at Christmas watching YOUTUBE, Netflix, and other stuff via Roku. I stopped paying for cable months before I got the Roku so it was a nice addition to our free TV OTA channels. Now WE GET TO CHOOSE what we want to watch, listen to (PANDORA), and how we spend our TV time. I have speakers outside that I can stream PANDORA from Roku. I researched a lot of options and my kids told me to get a Blu Ray. I opted for the Roku 3, and I think they want one now.

Great device

Received the Roku 3 as a Christmas present from my son. Very easy set up. Just follow the instructions. I have the HDMI cable routed thru my surround sound system. I'm using Netflix and Amazon Prime and I'm watching movies and shows in HD and 5.1 sound. Well worth it.

Great Streaming, Love IT!!!

We bought one of these for our son and his family. They have internet but don't have cable or satellite TV and were limited to what they could watch with an antenna. With the Roku 3 they now have a great selection of movies and programming with Netflix and Hulu Plus. Our grandchildren love it and it was the best possible Christmas present we could have given them. My wife and I have a Smart TV in the living room, with blueray players in the bedrooms through which we have been streaming Netflix and Amazon Prime. We like the setup, programming and quickness so much more on the Roku 3 that we purchased 2 more for our use and use them everyday. Thanks Roku for a wonderful product that works for us flawlessly.
