I purchased the Roku 3 about a month ago. I have Comcast internet and a Toshiba 1080 HD TV (not with streamer built in - obviously!). Coupled with Amazon Prime, and numerous free content, rental, as well as numerous channels Roku has 'pre-assembled' this is worth every penny! It is used on almost a daily basis for some content, or movie rental. There are numerous private channels (public access type channels) but they are either very lacking in content or not worth watching. I would like to see more App development for integration with online content... such as Imgur, Tumblr, Google Drive, etc. I'm sure there are ways to do this now, but it's generally not a simple process. The value, and rating is still high, even with this inconvenience.

I bought this not expecting much but it delivers several options both free and for a subscription price. You can use the free services or the paid services. It's up to the purchaser. Powerful Product!

Leaves Apple TV in the dust.

I was extremely skeptical that another brand could top the mighty apple tv. Airplay won't be missed, especially when you have the play on Roku and great channels like Plex. All content is extremely sharp at 1080p with even spotty wireless-N in my house (lots of insulated walls). The UI is super super fast, which is usually where these kinds of boxes suffer. We primarily use it for netflix (has a great UI, i think the same as playstation's. I use the headphone jack on the remote when my lady wants to sleep soundly. It sounds great, surprisingly and lines up perfectly, automatically mutes the tv. killer feature. What else... it rules!
I would recommend this to a friend!

So Easy to Use

We are a couple months in and we are still discovering great channels---and have yet to pay for a single one (since we already had Amazon Prime and Netflix). Well worth the investment, even if you have cable.
