Wonderful Internet TV

I've had my Roku 3 now for about a month. What a wonderful TV/internet interface. I had used to have a little satellite dish to pick up Free-to-Air religious & international channels. Roku picks up all the channels I had liked to watch and even gives me more content, Roku gives me all the TV I need with just one interface!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Needs more channels for Canada

Best Streaming device I've used yet!

I bought the Roku3 hoping to resolve severe latency issues controlling NetFliz videos along with other streaming problems we've had. I have two networks, one is 2.4Ghz, and one is 5Ghz. The Roku connects to the 5 where the others could only see the 2.4. There are now no latency issues! I've only encountered a couple of instances of buffering problems in the month that we've had this device. In fact, I bought two of them because my wife likes to watch TV in her sewing studio too.

Almost everything for me, except ...

I bought a Roku one day, and returned it the next. Absolutely nothing wrong with it - it's a great piece of equipment. But it was missing optical out which was necessary for where I wanted to use the device. My oversight.
Loved the device though. Plenty of channels available to add, found my networked content without having to navigate too deeply through menus, and it had a Plex client. I wasn't keen on having to create a profile on Roku's site before I could try it out though. I understand that doing so probably streamlines the purchase of paid services/channels.
I've remained with my WDTV Live unit (even though it pales in comparison when it comes to add-on channels but it does have Netflix, sees the Plex server, and has optical output) as well as my XBMC HTPC on my main TV. Should the latter die though, I'll get a Roku to replace it. In fact, I'd get it quicker if XBMC became a channel on Roku.
I'm sure I'll have another Roku soon enough.

Beat the "Australia tax" and buy roku.
$60+ a month for Foxtel which has sweet F all content and non stop repeats or buy Roku and pay $20 a month for Netflix and Hulu + ??
Easy decision, buy it now!

The Roku is easy to use. It fulfills all of my needs. I wish there were more apps available that were of interest to me. I was able to disconnect my satellite dish, which was costing me almost $100/month.

Briefly: trying to decide between Roku 2 and 3 after working with other streamers, finally went for the 3 and this one beats them all. First thing I noticed: the way it locks into my router signal from far away, beautiful, no hiccups. All my other streamers gave me problems all the time, but, with this one, everything looks dandy, great HD, fast and furious. It makes me feel like I just replaced a Chevy for a Rolls Royce
