Excellent player, just missing a couple functions

I bought this roku becuase the google TV (logitech) i had before had started to malfunction. The roku is great. It does everything we need but with a couple added functions would be perfect:
1. Need to be able to control volume on the remote (have some universal functionality).
2. Need google music and you-tube apps. One that you can use directly just as you would online.
3. a web browser - google chrome would be nice.
4. an optional physical keyboard (like the google tv has).

Add these and it would be perfect!

Okay - easy to use

Very happy with the Roku 3, but not sure what I got for the added cost. Yes some preloaded channels, but nothing worth watching ( other than the ones you pay for). Remote is good, works well.

quick set up, great features easy to use

I bought the product about a month ago. we did not want to run another cable box to the set in the family room. we also wanted to stream amazon prime which is not on some newer dvd internet ready players for some reason. finally, the roku had the most available apps to be added for travel, movies and other sources much of which are either free or low cost. The unit is small to say the least. Compac tis more like it. It connected to our wireless system immediately and we have used it constantly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had asked my son about another product that has been advertised that was similar to ROKU. He had taken the time to explain the differences in the products. I decided to pay a little more. I had my son hook up the device, and... WOW! I could not believe it. It has just been amazing. I watch that more now than anything else. I am a cancer patient and my wife was in a bad auto accident. I tend to spend a significant amount of time in bed watching television. It has been unbelievable. I would definitely recommend this to all of my friend's. It is easy to connect, easy to use, small and compact and easy to use. For once in my life I purchased something that was far better than I had expected. It's Amazing!

Performance beyond my wildest dreams

As a person who has experienced satellite, cable and over the air TV, buying a Roku3 player was a sea change in terms of the number of channels, ease of use, simplicity, and enjoyment. I bought this player with little knowledge of its' capabilities but in short order was amazed at the amount of entertainment it has brought to our home. And, most of the channels on Roku are free! This has got to be one of the greatest innovations in home entertainment since the invention of television. No antennas to erect on the roof, no satellite dishes with coax cables running through the house, no monthly bills from the cable/satellite company, new channels are always showing up, what's not to like!

Excellent streaming

Was disappointed at first to not have YouTube, but so glad it was re-added right around Christmas time :) Streams Netflix and other sites extremely well. Only thing that kept us from giving it 5 stars is not being able to turn the unit off; and the remote is on the 3rd set of batteries since right after Thanksgiving.
