I so enjoyed my Roku 2 I purchased the Roku 3. The continual addition of new channels . I really enjoy Netflixs and Hulu and really appreciate the History channel being added. If you would so how add the NFL season pass or something equal to it this would be the perfect devise. I have highly recommended this devise to others

Good Improvement over earlier models

While the USB media player option could stand some further refinements allowing it to support longer file names and the ability to rapidly scan thru a file rather than restarting at the beginning each time it is a step in the right direction. The upgraded remote to supporting earphones and using wireless instead of IR to control the base make placement of the base station less problematic. HDMI output allows it to work whit both computer moditors as well as TVs.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great way to get started away from cableTV.

Setting up the ROKU was a bit of a hassle. I spent over an hour on line with the tech help person trying to figure out why the ROKU wouldn't work. Turns out our wireless devices in the house were interfereing with it. Be careful when setting yours up. We're up and running now. Works great, but I'm disappointed with the selections available. This is a good start cutting the cord from cable and sattelite TV.

I think it is mostly us just not really be techie types and taking the time to learn. I guess I would recommend it but only if you are willing to put the time into learning to use it.

We really enjoy the Roku3.... the set up was 3 easy steps and have had no issues or concerns using the Roku3. Works great and very satisfied.

Roku did a nice job on this unit. Finally someone put a faster processor in a streaming box. I have tivo and where tivo does some things way better, it doesn't do speed as fast as Roku 3. That said, there is a huge downfall. Unless you have a state of the art receiver that is dolby digital plus, you won't get surround sound. Yup, that is why my roku went back. Roku cheped out, and only put the latest codecs in this box. What a shame too, could have been the perfect box.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
