One of the best Media Streaming Devices!

Brought the Roku 3 a month ago for $99. Everyone in the family loves it. The price was the only concern compared to Chromecast. Overall it's great for streaming anything, especially if you have videos and what not on your PC. You can even stream media straight from your phone.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Roku 3 - battery life with headphone on remote sux

I had a roku XD earlier and now i upgraded to Roku3. i had great expectations from the remote with headphone but its a battery drainer. i looked over other reviews too and everyone is complaining the same. that's supposed to be the biggest feature of roku3. i am not able to use it anymore because my cells dont even last 1 week (with just 2 hrs of daily usage) if i listen via my remote. not sure, if its hardware or software issue but its a big spoiler.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent way to cut-the-cord with Cable TV

My family has been using the Roku 3 after canceling our cable TV service and it has been working great. Hundreds of channels available to access video content, and we save lots of money by using Roku in combination with Netflix and Hulu Plus subscriptions. This little device runs fast, and has a very easy to use interface. I love the earphone jack on the side of the wireless remote which allows me to watch my shows without disrupting any of my other family members.
With so much content, I definitely don't miss my old Cable TV service.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought my Roku 3 to run Plex on it. Although this works, it doesn't work for my situation. The forums suggest to re-encode all of my content which is over 6TB just to make it work. That isn't acceptable. I could setup a powerful server to re-encode on the fly. But again, that is a big expense that sucks a lot of power so I can say I have a cheap media player that doesn't draw a lot of power? It makes no sense. So i don't use it. I did rent a TV show on Vudu and I really enjoyed using the Roku 3 for that. So far that's all I have used it for is to watch one TV shows I rented. Once I can buy HBO Go without paying for cable service the Roku 3 will be much more useful to me.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
